LONDON, UK: A royal biographer has alleged that Prince Harry has been “nasty” about Queen Consort Camilla. Angela Levin also claimed that the way she has been portrayed in ‘The Crown’ is not true. The award-winning journalist spoke with 'Lorraine' stand-in host Christine Lampard after the release of her new book — ‘Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: From Outcast to Future Queen Consort’.

She told Lampard, “I wanted to do this book so people get to know Camilla, 'The Crown' was cruel to her and Prince Harry has said some nasty things about her too.” And when Lampard said, “It obviously hasn’t always been plain sailing, a lot of people disliked Camilla because they loved Diana so much,” Levin replied, “Yes, they met when Charles was 24 and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to settle down – and he also knew that his parents wouldn’t approve. He knew that the first in line to the throne would need to marry within the aristocracy and someone who was a virgin. Camilla was aristocracy but not to the highest level – and she had been in relationships previously. They got on well, but Charles knew he would get in trouble.”

Levin also noted why Camilla is “perfect” for Charles. She said, “Camilla doesn’t seek out the spotlight, which is perfect for Charles because he won’t get jealous like with his previous wife. She does a lot of charity work with causes like domestic violence, rape and of course her book club which started during the pandemic. There are a lot of people who now love reading due to her efforts.”

Besides, the author revealed that once she was invited by Camilla to meet the late Queen herself. Levin added, “I got the call to meet the Duchess and of course I dropped everything. She said she had a surprise for me, but not to get upset if it didn’t happen – I didn’t know what it was, I thought it could be a box of chocolates! I arrived at Buckingham Palace and Camilla was there with the Queen – and they took me to the stables where an 80-year-old horse expert was.”

Levin pointed out, “But more importantly, without saying a word Camilla showed me that her and the Queen shared a close bond – which was obvious through their shared love of horses and the way they talked and laughed. I can’t imagine anyone else going out of their way like that to make my life easier, and it gave me a positive story to work with. There were rumors her and the Queen didn’t get on – but I could see that wasn’t correct,” before adding, “The more you get to know her, the more you like her.”

Meanwhile, Levin’s words did not get appreciation from people on Twitter. A user tweeted, “Can you please show us proof of Prince Harry saying horrible things about Camilla as you claimed in your interview. It seems all washed out people need to mention Harry to revive their expired selves 🙄ITV also not challenging these lies maybe Vanessa would have.” Another user commented: “You lie a lot. When has Harry said anything about Camilla?” “Harry bad mouthed Camilla. 😂 That’s just a hook for sales. Camilla agreeing to this will backfire,” the third user added.
