How did Roger E Mosley die? Co-stars and fans remember ‘Magnum PI’ actor, 83, as ‘goddamn legend’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Coach Mosley, famous for playing the role of helicopter pilot Theodore 'TC' in CBS 'Magnum PI' died early Sunday morning, August 7, at 1:17 am. He was 83. As per his daughter's Facebook post, he was surrounded by his family at the time of death.

Ch-a Mosley later told Hollywood Reporter that Mosley died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from injuries obtained in a car accident in Lynwood, California on Thursday, August 4. Mosley was reportedly paralyzed from the shoulder down after the car crash that left him with serious injuries. He is survived by his partner Toni Laudermick and three children.

Mosley's daughter, Ch-a Mosley wrote on Facebook, "Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your “coach Mosley” your “TC” from Magnum P.I., passed away at 1:17am. He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully." She continued, "We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy."



 

In a previous Facebook post announcing his involvement in a car crash, Ch-a Mosley wrote, "Last week my dad, Roger E. Mosley was involved in a major car accident that has left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. He is in a critical condition but fighting hard. Every effort is being made to care for him during this time. And he is constantly accompanied by family and friends."

A lot of his co-stars and other Hollywood talent came together to remember 'Coach Mosley/TC'.

Tributes pour in following Mosley's death

Writer and actress Tina Andrews remembered Mosley saying, "Sad day. My friend Roger E. Mosley, 83, who played “TC” on Magnum P.I., has transitioned. He was surrounded by his family after suffering from a car crash this weekend. What a sweet man, and a fine actor who gave great parties. RIP, Roger. You were loved and shall be missed." Shavar Ross, a former actor who played Mosley's son 'Bryant' on TV’s 'Magnum P.I.' tweeted, "R.I.P. to actor Mr Roger E. Mosley, a wonderful actor. I grew up seeing Mr Mosley play tennis at Poinsettia Park in West Hollywood, CA. He was like family. I was honored to play his son Bryant on TV’s Magnum P.I. My prayers and condolences to Mr Mosley’s family, friends and fans."



 



 

American comic book and television writer Jay Faerber wrote, "Roger E. Mosley passed away this morning. #MagnumPI wouldn't have been the same without him." Super 70s Sports podcasts tweeted, "Super Sky Point to Roger E. Mosley, the man who brought the great Theodore “T.C.” Calvin to life on Magnum P.I. A goddamn legend who will be celebrated on this timeline forever. Put respect on his name. #RIP"



 



 

Former American professional basketball player and social media influencer Rex Chapman remembered Mosley and tweeted, "Roger E. Mosley has passed away at the age of 83. ‘TC Calvin’ from 'Magnum P.I.' and much more in a career spanning some five decades. RIP…" One Mosley fan remember his hero and wrote, "Roger E. Mosley was one of my childhood heroes. My father served in Vietnam and I always had a soft spot for Vietnam veterans. Magnum PI was a favorite show. RIP"
