Is Blac Chyna messing with ex-fiancee? Rob Kardashian says she's trying to back out of revenge porn settlement
Rob Kardashian has accused his ex-fiancee Blac Chyna of trying to back out of a deal she made to end their legal drama over revenge porn. The reality star’s attorneys have revealed that Blac Chyna agreed to drop her lawsuit if Rob helped in getting rid of a separate lawsuit. The reality TV star has now asked the judge to enforce the settlement agreement that was allegedly proposed by Chyna’s attorney on May 23.
Rob may have made his move after the accusation, however, according to TMZ, Chyna’s attorney Lynne Ciani later revealed that "Under California law, settlement discussions are confidential. Rob Kardashian has violated California law by revealing alleged details of ongoing settlement discussions." Rob is yet to respond to new claims made by Blac Chyna's legal team. Is Blac Chyna backing out of revenge porn settlement deal with Rob Kardashian?
According to TMZ, the separate lawsuit Blac Chyna is talking about is related to one of her exes Pilot Jones. Rob revealed that the deal between him and Chyna was that he would get her out of that Jones lawsuit without it costing her a cent and she would drop the revenge porn case. However, Chyna seems to have a change of heart as documents obtained by TMZ spilled the beans that Chyna was threatening to push forward with a trial in the revenge porn case.
Rob shed light on the situation adding that Chyna needs to drop the case altogether because he accepted the terms of the deal- the reason why he now asked a judge to enforce that contract. Jones had sued Rob and Chyna for defamation, cyberbullying and emotional distress in October 2017, claiming that the former duo falsely outed him as gay. According to Page Six, Melissa Lerner, one of Rob Kardashians’ attorneys, said that the revenge porn case should not move forward since both parties already had agreed to settle. “At best, Chyna’s belated repudiation of the parties’ settlement agreement is a strategy to exact monies from Rob at the eleventh hour,” Lerner wrote in the motion adding, “At worst, it is a tactic deliberately intended to interfere with Rob’s preparation for trial and prejudice his ability to fully and fairly present his defense. Such outrageous conduct should not be counseled.”
Is Rob Kardashian at fault?
The attorney of Blac Chyna fired back at Rob’s legal team saying it was Rob who revealed the details of the revenge porn settlement deal thus violating the law. Chyna’s attorney Lynne Ciani speaking on the same, said, “Chyna is permitted under California law to disclose that settlement discussions regarding her revenge porn case against her ex-fiancé are ongoing. When and if a confidential settlement is reached on this case, Chyna will alert the court first and then the media."
Ciani added, “Regarding the earlier trial in April 2022, a Los Angeles jury soundly rejected Rob’s testimony that Chyna had physically abused him. The jury found that Chyna, in fact, had not physically abused Rob." Rob, who shares 5-year-old daughter Dream with his ex-fiancée, had testified in April during Chyna’s $140 million dollar defamation case against Kim, Khloe Kardashian, Kris and Kylie Jenner. Blac Chyna had then failed to get anything in damages.
