Ricky Martin to focus on healing as nephew withdraws shocking incest case
The sexual abuse case against Ricky Martin got dismissed on Thursday, July 21 after the singer’s nephew Dennis Sanchez withdrew the case. A judge, on July 1 had ordered a domestic violence restraining order against Martin after the latter had claimed they had a sexual relationship and that the Spanish crooner stalked him.
The 50-year-old crooner shared an official statement on Twitter and Instagram penned by his attorneys. A video then soon followed obtained by TMZ where the ‘Livin' La Vida Loca’ hitmaker revealed that the court case was painful and devastating for him and his family adding that he will start focusing on healing. Social media users too got to their act as many wondered if Martin should sue his nephew back for trying to damage his reputation.

‘I really need to talk in order for me to start my healing process’
In the video obtained by TMZ, Ricky Martin shared that for weeks he was not allowed to defend himself but he was going to tell the truth. “I’m in front of the cameras today because I really need to talk in order for me to start my healing process”, said Martin adding, “For two weeks, I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk until I was in front of a judge.”
The award-winning crooner continues, “Thank God these claims were proven to be false, but I’m going to tell you the truth. It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody.” The singer then addressed the accuser saying, “To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anybody else.”
‘The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case’
The official statement shared by the attorneys of Martin said, “Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter," the statement read. "The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case."
The statement further said, "This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career." Martin, according to the court case, allegedly dated his 21-year-old nephew for seven months. The singer apparently did not take it well after the relationship ended two months ago as his nephew claims he used to show up at home even after their alleged break-up.
‘The accusation is still enough to damage his reputation’
Social media users flocked to Twitter to speak on Martin’s case getting withdrawn. One individual shared, “Unfortunately, in today's world the accusation is still enough to damage his reputation”, as another mentioned, “I don't know man... this whole story sounds so bogus to me... family is not everything when you got money and they need it.”
