'RHOSLC' Season 4 finale: How did Heather Gay get a 'black eye'? Reality star emotionally admits to hiding friend's abuse
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: Heather Gay revealed in 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Season 4 finale that Jen Shah gave her the black eye. During the heated confrontation with Monica Garcia, Heather revealed the most awaited mystery.
However, Heather didn't go into further details about Jen's abuse. Fans could expect more juicy revelations during the 'RHOSLC' Season 4 reunion. In Season 3 of the Bravo show, Heather stunned her castmates as she showed her bruised left eye after a late night of partying with Jen Shah, and Meredith Marks in San Diego.
Heather's black eye took 10 days to heal and remained an ongoing topic of conversation for the rest of the season and on social media. Previously, the reality star said that she wanted the person in the group who gave her the black eye to come forward, stating, "I thought if maybe they knew, somebody would maybe say something."
After the incident, Heather told Whitney, "I think we all know what happened, I just think we don't want to talk about it." Meanwhile, in the latest season of the Bravo show, Heather admitted that she felt like "protecting" Jen by "lying" for her and "defending" her at every front.
In the finale of Season 4, Heather said, "I went on book tour and defended her and took s**t for the fact that she gave me a black eye," adding, "I had to ride hard for [Jen] and I had to lie for her. We're not going to do it again with you," referring to Monica Garcia.
Heather Gay devastated after Jen Shah's scandal
Heather Gay and Jen Shah were best friends for the first few seasons of 'RHOSLC'. Heather even remained by Jen's side during her trial despite all the other Bravo stars backing out.
However, things changed when Jen was proven guilty of telemarketing fraud. Heather was left devastated and ended her friendship with Jen.
Jen began her prison sentence on February 17 to serve 6.5 years after she was arrested two years earlier for running a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme.
The Bravo show alum initially maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty in April 2021. However, after her assistant Stuart Smith pled guilty in November 2021, Jen followed his steps and reversed her plea in July 2022.
Bravo investigated into Heather Gay's black eye mystery
After 'RHOSLC' star Heather Gay revealed that she was blacked out when someone gave her the black eye, Bravo intervened to solve the mystery. Host Andy Cohen revealed that Bravo launched an investigation but that it didn't bring about any clarification.
He revealed that "there was no additional footage" from the evening. The investigation seemingly was quite a problem for all the Bravo stars as they all had to undergo the process.
Lisa Barlow reminded Heather that the incident "caused so much damage" to all parties involved, who had to stay up late and figure out what happened.
Despite the investigation, Heather continuously tried to claim that she didn't know who gave her the black eye. When the reality star finally said that she did not know what caused the injury, she recalled, "When production came in my room, I told them, I said, 'I had no idea.'"
Heather added, "I said I have no memory and then it spun out of control after that and I take full responsibility and I'm really sorry."
'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Season 4 Reunion Part 1 will premiere on Tuesday, January 9, at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
