A source close to Tinsley revealed that she was "blindsided" by Scott's move and is feeling devastated following their split

Tinsley Mortimer left her cozy New York life, and her job as a star on Bravo's hit reality show 'Real Housewives of New York City' just to be with the man of her dreams- Scott Kluth. 

When Scott gave her an ultimatum and asked her to choose either the reality show or him, she chose him. He lured Tinsley into choosing him by assuring her that he would marry her if she chose him over the show. So, towards the end of 2019, the 'RHONY' star not only quit the show but moved to Chicago to stay with Scott. Unfortunately, it looks like Tinsley won't be walking down the aisle with Scott despite giving up everything for him, as he broke up with her on last Friday.

The 40-year-old CouponCabin founder sent a statement to PEOPLE magazine announcing their split. In his statement, he wrote, "After fourteen months of engagement, Tinsley and I have ended our relationship, and we have been living independently for the last few months. This was an incredibly difficult decision, but it is one that I believe is best for both of us. I will always care about Tinsley and I sincerely wish her happiness and success in all that she does in the future." "While I understand this news will be of interest to many, I ask for privacy and understanding during this time as I continue to work on recovering emotionally from the end of our relationship," he added.

Although Scott's statement gives an illusion of the breakup being mutual, apparently that wasn't the case. A source close to Tinsley revealed that she was "blindsided" by Scott's move. "This was not mutual, she was blindsided. She's on the floor heartbroken and devastated. She left everything for him because she didn't think he'd ever call off the engagement. She trusted him that this time was going to be different."

Tinsley and Scott met on an episode of 'RHONY' after they were set up on a blind date by former cast member Carole Radziwill. Since then the couple has been in an on-and-off relationship. After Tinsley quit the show and followed Scott to Chicago, he proposed to her in November 2019. Tinsley was over the moon with the way things were panning out between Scott and her. So, when the news of the split broke out, fans were feeling sorry for Tinsley.

A fan tweeted, "Ugh Tinsley and Scott are no longer. We all wanted the fairytale for her. #RHONY." Another fan wrote, "Did you see the Tinsley and Scott broke up? I feel sad for tinsley. I wonder if she will come back to New York. She has tones of family money, so it is not like she has to get back into the show." Some other fans tried consoling Tinsley by pointing out she was way too good for Scott anyway. A fan shared, "Never saw what Tinsley saw in Scott. She was way, way out of his league. Hope she finds her happy ending.." "It’s @TinsleyMortimer sharing everyone roasting Scott for me. Tinsley, you are a beautiful and kind individual who deserves so much better than this loser. Prior to her relationship with Scott, Tinsley was married to Topper Mortimer from 2002 to 2010.
