'RHONJ' star Margaret Josephs faces backlash after calling forTeresa Giudice's termination from Bravo show
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Does Teresa Giudice not belong on 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' anymore? Margaret Josephs appears to believe so, yet it doesn't seem like the internet agrees with her.
When Season 13 finished, the group found itself fractured, largely due to the ongoing tension between Teresa and Melissa Gorga. While the Gorgas were not without flaws, Teresa and Luis 'Louie' Ruelas were largely disliked by spectators.
Even before the cast became so divided, there were calls for Teresa's dismissal. The Season 13 reunion only amplified these voices. Even the cast is finding it difficult to overlook the mounting pressure.
Margaret recently had an interview with Access Hollywood. During the conversation, the interviewer noted that the current dynamics within the 'RHONJ' cast seemed to be unsustainable.
Margaret agreed, stating, "I think if someone’s husband is just so wealthy, and preaches it all the time, I don’t know why his wife is showing up at Subway shops slinging bologna." She went on to say, "So maybe it’s time for her to go. That’s all I have to say."
She continued, "I don’t think it could continue the way it is at all. I don’t. But I think, you know, there are deep bonds with many of us that can continue. And I think there’s just, you know, a few people who just dig their heels in."
She then accused these individuals of committing "horrible things. Which is sad. Which is unfortunate. But I think certain people cross certain boundaries that, you know, I can’t come back from, Melissa can’t come back from, Rachel [Fuda] can’t come back from – many people can’t come back from."
She stated that the cast would have a difficult time "turning their head" away from these transgressions "at this point."
As the clip from the interview went viral, fans on Instagram wrote about Margaret, "Can’t stand her." While another user chimed in, "And it’s sad and unfortunate that MARGE is the one who did a bunch of sad and horrible things! She is the issue not Tre!"
One user noted, "Teresa is an OG and laid the groundwork for the show. Marge should be the one who should've been fired after S11." Another fan said, "Maggot wants T fired so she can come in and try to play ring leader and run the show on HER terms. How about all of the nasty things she’s done to every cast member? Acts like she’s a saint, grandma has GOT TO GOOOOOO."
One user asked, "Wth is she even talking about??!! Her words all over the place. She sounds ridi/culous 🙄." Another added, "Marge wouldn’t have a job if it was for the success of Teresa and the show. You don’t have to like Teresa, but be grateful for her and the show."
Margaret Josephs claims 'RHONJ' costar Teresa Giudice 'means nothing' in her life
During the same interview, Margaret reaffirmed to Access Hollywood that Teresa "really means nothing in my life." She added, "I wouldn’t even know a person like Teresa Giudice, the person she is now."
Then she talked about Teresa's old self, back when they were true friends. "When I first met her, she had just come out of jail. She was humble, sweet, and kind." Margaret said, "The person she is today, I would never want to know."
"How did that affect you guys [with] filming," the reporter said, noting that Melissa and Joe were also not interacting with Teresa. Margaret responded that, despite the fact that she and Teresa had very little screen time this season, she had heard some of her co-star's shenanigans while filming.
"The girls are telling me that she was obsessing over me. She’s gonna drop some bombs, because she’s so obsessed with me," Margaret reflected.
As for Margaret's true feelings, she said that she "could care less about" Teresa. "Truthfully, I don’t care about her life. The truth is, to me, she’s a nonentity. She is not the person I met. Maybe this was the real her all along," she concluded.
Were Teresa Giudice and Louie Ruelas set up by Margaret Josephs on 'RHONJ'?
In the Season 14 opener, Teresa and Louie said that a little bird with the same name as Dolores Catania's ex-boyfriend, Frank Catania, spilled some gossip about Margaret when they were out to dinner with Dolores and her boyfriend, Paul Connell.
Frank saw how angry Louie was when he revealed at the reunion that he and Dolores's son, Frankie Jr, were no longer working together. He then informed her that Margaret had set up the couple's takedown at the reunion in an attempt to encourage the group to "go after Louie and I."
Teresa revealed in a confessional, "After New York, my husband reached out to Frank." "They made up, and he’s [Frank] like, ‘I just want you to know they all came up with a plan trying to take you down,'" said Frank.
Teresa mentioned in the interview that Frank and his fiancée, Brittany Mattesich, decided not to show up for the prearranged get-together. However, the cast members—Margaret, her husband, Joe Benigno, Melissa and Joe, Rachel Fuda, and John Fuda—who allegedly approved of the plan—carried out the “attack."
During the reunion, they claimed that Teresa and Louie had employed Bo Dietl, Louie's buddy and private investigator, to compile a "file" containing personal information on each member of the group. Louie also referenced doing so during the 'RHONJ' Season 13 finale.
Margaret stated to Jennifer Fessler in the premiere, "I don't ever wanna talk about her [Teresa] again," despite the fact that she remained silent in response to Teresa's accusation.
But "Messy Fessy" allegedly admitted that Teresa had been set up by her close friend Margaret. Teresa's account was verified by Paul, who said that Jennifer informed Joe that "you guys didn't execute the plan correctly" during the reunion.
Dolores Catania stated that Margaret Josephs possibly setting up Teresa Giudice is hardly 'groundbreaking'
Despite Margaret's failure to respond to Teresa's charges, one of their common acquaintances believes Margaret's alleged set-up is standard practice. In another scene from the premiere, Dolores suggests Teresa speak with Jennifer Fessler about the group's "failure" to execute their plan.
She claims a pre-reunion "meeting of the minds" isn't as startling as people may think. "It's normal to have a meeting of the minds before the reunion," Dolores explained in a confessional. "I think we all do it."
Dolores, who has always maintained a neutral stance toward Teresa and Margaret, also stated that she did not believe the purported action was "groundbreaking" by Jersey norms."With this group, it's tit for tat," Dolores stated.
