Mehdi Hasan slams Donald Trump for dropping F-bombs during speech at California GOP event

Mehdi Hasan also criticized Donald Trump's supporters for cheering him on after he swore

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Donald Trump addressed Republican supporters of California at the GOP Convention on Friday, September 29. The former president managed to get an enthusiastic response from his dedicated followers from the blue state. In the heated speech, Trump also dropped an F-bomb on President Joe Biden. 

MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan called the former president out on his behavior during the speech in a post on X. He also slammed Trump supporters for cheering while the GOP leader used the swear word.

The former president, in his usual fashion, did not hesitate to make direct attacks at Democrats and party leaders during his speech at the GOP convention. In the process, he also used a swear word while talking about the POTUS. 

"What they have done this is that they have gone after opponents," Trump said, "So that when you become president and you don't like somebody, or if somebody's beating you by 10, 15, or 20 points like we are doing with crooked Joe Biden – let's indict the motherf**ker!"

He got applause from the audience for making the remark. 

The former president also made some bizarre claims about the water shortages in the state, as per ABC7, while also encouraging his supporters to shoot store robbers. 

"If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store," he said during his speech, according to The Guardian.

Mehdi Hasan called out the GOP leader as well as the Republican supporters present at the event for encouraging his use of the swear word while talking about President Biden. 

"I just want to remind you that if Barack Obama (Black man) or Hillary Clinton (woman) had dropped as many F and MF bombs as Trump does they certainly wouldn’t be getting the applause, laughter, and cheers from conservatives that Trump does," his post on X read. 

In slamming the applause, he pointed out that Trump's supporters, specifically white evangelicals, are often quite critical of rude behavior and endorse discipline. 

"Reminder 2: white evangelicals who claim to love civility, morals, and family values love Trump and his F-bombs," his following post read.
