Revenge is a dish best served cold. But what’s even better? A woman betrayed serving it on a hot platter with all her might! As Doris Dearie in 'Reprisal' sets out for payback from the most notorious, southern renegades, get ready to see the transformation of a woman who was left to die to become the woman no one messes with. But Doris is not your leather-clad, gun-slinging, sword-wielding kill machine! She is very ladylike, like the women in the good old days were. She is graceful and charming, but couches her darker alter ego in her beauty. And when needed she can slay the most violent and ruthless gangsters of the southern lands.

As we see glimpses in the trailer, Katherine survives a nearly fatal assault by her brother’s gang. And then, like the phoenix she rises from being half-dead and becomes Doris, only to exact revenge against the gang who put her in pain and misery.

Abigail Spencer is an actor who has an image of being the classic beautiful, sweet, charming woman, albeit with a touch of toughness, when and where her character demands. Whether it was Rebecca Tyre in ‘All My Children’, Amanda Holden in ‘Rectify’ or Prof Lucy Preston in ‘Timeless’, there was an underlying poise and composure in most of her characters that Abigail is known for. But things are going to change now for this Florida-born actor, because she is going to let loose the darker side of her persona on-screen. In the original upcoming drama-thriller on Hulu, Abigail is all set to play the character of Katherine Harlow aka Doris Dearie, a woman who was left to die by her gangbanger brother and his gang who wronged her like no other.

But why watch ‘Reprisal’ you might ask! There’s no doubt that we are bombarded with new streams of original and interesting online content these days, but this hyperkinetic action-drama-thriller promises classic retro thrill, which is perhaps trending, but not as grungy and rugged as ‘Reprisal’ promises. And then, there is the on-screen presence of actors like Rodrigo Santoro and Mena Massoud to complement Abigail Spencer, who can turn the plot more sinister with their roles.

It would be wrong to say that we have not seen dark female characters who would go all-in for retribution and don’t flinch to pull the trigger. In the course of time, such characters have etched an image in our minds. But Abigail Spencer is all set to reinvent that impression and take us on the journey of a character that can embrace it all. Because settling a score doesn’t need a label; it only needs determination. Or so says Doris Quinn.

Sneak a peek at Abigail in action because “She is coming to collect” like never before!
