ONTARIO, CANADA: Kayla Lemieux, the transgender teacher with prosthetic Z-cup breasts who has been in the centre of a massive controversy, seems to have set up a fairly new Twitter account. Her Twitter bio reads, "I am a high school teacher with the HDSB. I enjoy being outdoors, volunteering within my community and learning new things. I also enjoy helping others. :)"

Lemieux's profile has no more than 29 followers, and she follows 20 people. MEAWW could not independently verify if the account was hers. Lemieux seems to have reponded to people who had called her a troll in the past, saying in a March 6 tweet, "Debunking the rumors day two: I am not an anti-trans troll who is trying to expose what they call "woke culture" in the school system. The inclusion that exists in our schools today should be celebrated. I began my transition in 2021. My transition is what saved my life!"

When social media users called Kayla Lemieux a 'troll'

Previously, a Twitter user had called her a troll, saying, "If this "Kayla" Lemieux turns out to be a troll, it could be one of the biggest turning points in this woke nonsense culture war. Stay tuned.." "When your attempt to troll in real life goes horribly horribly wrong," another user said had when Lemieux was put on paid leave. "Kayla Lemieux Could Be A Troll," one user said, while another wrote, "Behold, the King of All Trolls!"

'I have been bullied too long'

Lemieux's first tweet is from March 4. She wrote, "Hello everyone! This is my first Tweet. My name is Kayla and I am a teacher in Ontario. Many have offered their opinions and have voiced their frustrations online. The dialogue has been mostly one sided! I have come here with the hope of finding positive support from others." The next day, she wrote, "I have kept quiet too long. I have been bullied too long! I think it is time I started to stand up for myself don't cha think?"

Why was Kayla Lemieux suspended?

Lemieux was suspended from her school after pictures of her in men's clothing showed she did not wear the her controversial attire at all times. She had previously claimed her breasts were real and the result of a medical condition. According to the Halton District School Board (HDSB), Lemieux was placed on paid leave on Tuesday, February 28. However, she continues to be paid for her role at Oakville Trafalgar High School. "While not currently on an active assignment, the teacher remains employed with the HDSB," board spokesperson Heather Francey told the Toronto Sun.

Lemieux started transitioning from male to female in 2021. The Halton District School Board defended her in September 2022, saying it would not answer questions about the issue since it was a "personnel matter." According to the district, criticizing or interfering would go against the Ontario Human Rights Code. However, parents at the school Lemieux taught at said they were relieved she had finally been put on leave.
