Ray J files for divorce from Princess Love 2 months after reconciliation: A look at their troubled relationship
The love story of Ray J and Princess Love seems to be coming to an end as the American singer-songwriter has filed for the divorce just two months after the couple reconciled post her divorce filing.
According to The Blast, Ray J has submitted court documents to end his marriage to his wife of four years. The couple got married in 2016 and now has two kids – a 2-year-old daughter Melody Love and an eight-month-old son Epik Ray Norwood.
According to the report, the 39-year-old hip-hop star has filed for the dissolution of their marriage in Los Angeles County Court and the documents submitted apparently include the pre-nuptial agreement between the couple which comes with prior-agreed property and support.
Ray J and Princess Love both had famous former lovers. Ray J earlier dated Kim Kardashian, who is now married to rapper Kanye West. Ray J and Kim dated on and off from 2005 to 2007. Things got messy when the sex tape they had made got leaked on the Internet. If we talk about Princess Love, she is a 35-year-old former stripper who was raised in Austin, Texas. She first gained fame when she started dating international renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr back in 2013.
Ray J and Princess Love both met during the reality series ‘Love and Hip-Hop’. The duo went through a lot of mess during the shoot of the series but always ended up together. They got engaged in January 2016 and got married in August 2016. They had their first child in 2018 and second child in December 2019. Things went south when in early 2019, Love took to her Instagram to vent her frustrations regarding her hubby Ray J. She apparently had suspected him of cheating but he had denied such allegations. She also accused him of abandoning her and the child. Ray J had later apologized in public.
With an intention to sort out things, Ray J spoke to People Magazine and had said, “Well, first off, let me say, Princess, I love you, baby, and I’m sorry for all the things that happened. We cool now and we’ll work it out.” He added, “I know you still mad at me, but as a couple, you go through things and it just got a little bit out of hand. Sometimes it gets out to the public and then everybody has their opinion on it, but we’re good though, as parents and as friends and as husband and wife. We just went through something.”
In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Ray J had said, “In relationships, you know you go through ups and downs, and so I think we just have to make sure going through the ups and going through the downs, that in this time we stick together to make sure that the kids are safe and happy and comfortable, and find the rhythm.”
After a lot of dispute, Princess Love filed for a divorce in May but somehow they still got back together and now, the reality star has filed for the divorce. In August, Ray J had shared a sweet birthday message for his wife on his official Instagram account with a lovely black-and-white picture of himself and Princess Love. He had captioned the pic as, “Happy Birthday my love! I’m so happy and blessed to spend today with you and our family. God is the greatest! Everybody pls wish my wife @princesslove #HAPPYBIRTHDAY.”
