Season 7 of 'Ray Donovan' has seen Ray (Liev Schreiber) strive hard to become a better man for the sake of his family, and it is allowing him to make better decisions and channel his hurt and anger and frustrations better. He has been taking the journey toward mental health very seriously, and we even see him revealing to Molly (Kerry Condon) in the previously aired Episode 5 of the ongoing Season 7 that he is in therapy, indicating that having mindless sex would not be good for his journey.

However, when Molly revealed to him that she actually likes him, we see Ray taking the plunge. He obviously has a special connection towards her too, because of their shared love for his late sister Bridget. Molly has revealed to him earlier this season that Bridget, who used to babysit her, told her Ray was the best person in the entire world. Ray was certainly touched by this and potentially wants to hear more about Bridget from someone who spent a lot of time with her, possibly remembers her as a perfect human specimen just like he does.

It is clear that Ray is looking for a meaningful romantic connection with Molly, and seemingly she wants it too, and for the first in his life, Ray has the ability to achieve it, thanks to all the work he is doing with Dr. Amiot (Alan Alda). In the trailer for the upcoming Season 7 Episode 5 of the series, we see Ray telling the good doctor, "I met someone. She's nice... Too nice for someone like me," before revealing that he knew of her when she was a kid, but it is his father that he actually knew.

As we know, the relationship between the Sullivans and the Donovans is pretty complicated, in that they truly hate each other. Ray, who worked for Molly's father in the past, knows this more than anyone else. Despite the family tension and the self-sabotaging tendencies, will Ray be able to explore a healthy relationship with Molly thanks to Dr. Amiot? We will find out when 'Ray Donovan' returns with Season 7 Episode 5 titled 'An Irish Lullaby' on Sunday, December 15.
