Rapper Lexii Alijai dies at 21 just hours after being active on social media; Kehlani Parrish pays tribute
A rising face of the rap genre, Lexii Alijai, died at 21 — a piece of news that broke just hours after Lexii was seen active on social media. The news was confirmed by the rapper's cousin Raeisah Khan, who took it to Facebook to share the tragic demise.
"Your a real Legend. If you know her or heard her music you’d feel chills. Rest in paradise you’ll never be forgotten!" wrote Khan, adding: "I’m so lost for words...my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul. It’s too soon."
While it is still unclear how Lexii died, fellow American rapper Kehlani Parrish, who featured Lexii on her track 'Jealous', was also among the first people in the industry to share the sad news. Taking to Twitter, Kehlani shared with her 1.3 million followers: "Jus got the worst f****n news ever. my heart is BROKE. F**K Weakest saddest way to start a new year i’m off this happy new year please please please please be safe out here love on your people please. It’s hard to have so much faith in god and that everything happen for a reason cuz it’s s**t i can’t imagine there ever being a reason for why bro."
Lexii, whose real name was Alexis Alijai Lynch, tweeted just yesterday, shortly before the news of her death came out, as she wished happy birthday to Kehlani's manager David Ali. She wrote: "Happy birthday @DavidAli," accompanied by a prayer hands emoji and a blue love heart. David paid tribute to Lexii after the shocking news broke out, with a prayer hands emoji, and that's only the tip of the iceberg of the wild outpour of tributes from her ardent fandom, who was convinced she was going to make it big in the music business.
Lexii's single, 'Anthony', came out in February of 2019, and her illustrious Soundcloud account linked to her Twitter profile brags of a whopping 68 tracks. Probably, what drew her incredible social media following with tens of thousands of fans to react to the news of her passing with such sheer love and devotion.
