Mother (Amanda Collin) has escaped and though she may not have access to her Necromancer abilities, she's still a force to be reckoned with. It's only a matter of time before she finds a way back to the settlement, to rescue Campion (Winta McGrath) and the rest of the Mithraic children she considers to be her family. Meanwhile, back at the settlement, things are getting from bad to worse, as the voices in Marcus's (Travis Fimmel) head have him convinced that he is the Prophet foretold in Mithraic scripture. Marcus is losing himself in the identity he stole and his own family might not stick around to see the man he's becoming.

Ever since finding the strange polyhedral structure in the middle of the dessert, Marcus's path has led him deeper and deeper into Mithraic faith. Starting with the voices that whispered in his head that helped him become a leader of the Mithraic survivors, Marcus has become increasingly unhinged, with only the rigid, welcoming structure of the Mithraic faith giving him any kind of solace. While Marcus might be forgetting who he is, Sue (Niamh Algar) has never lost sight of her own identity. For the first time since putting on her new face, she and Paul (Felix Jamieson) have a chance to escape, that is, of course, if Marcus lets them.

The synopsis for the next episode also teases a "secret project" between Hunter (Ethan Hazzard) and Father (Abubakar Salim). Father may have had his memories wiped, but the last episode showed that there's still a little bit of the old Father in there, fighting his way out. Hunter once offered to upgrade Father's programming - could the secret project be an upgrade for Father and a way to bring his memories back? We can only hope.

The official synopsis for the episode, entitled 'Mass', reads, "As Marcus (Travis Fimmel) continues to embrace his Mithraic devotion, Sue (Niamh Algar) worries he may no longer have her and Paul's (Felix Jamieson) best interests at heart. Meanwhile, Mother (Amanda Collin) experiences what she believes to be malfuntions and Hunter (Ethan Hazzard) works on a secret project with Father (Abubakar Salim).

This episode of 'Raised by Wolves' airs September 24, on HBO Max.
