Netflix confirms two stunning new locations Season 6 of 'Emily In Paris'— and we're in awe
'Emily In Paris' follows the titular character of Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, as she relocates from Chicago to Paris. She brings with her the American way of getting things done, and that's exactly what the French marketing agency Agence Grateau needs. The show is created by Darren Star, who was previously known for his contribution to 'Sex and the City'. Season 6 of the Netflix romantic comedy kicks off principal photography in May, and a recent Variety report has confirmed two new backdrops for most of the action in the upcoming installment.
There's no denying that glamour and ritz are key elements of the world of 'Emily in Paris', and the show has previously been filmed in iconic cities such as Venice, Rome, Saint-Tropez, and Megève. In addition to these, the globe-trotting series will now be filming its Season 6 in several locations across Greece and Monaco. Apart from Collins, the show also stars Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Bruno Gourey, and Lucien Laviscount in key roles. Despite opening to mixed reviews that were mostly polarizing, Season 5 of 'Emily in Paris' went on to debut at number 5 on Netflix's list of Top 10 shows and raked in a whopping 13.5 million views within the first four days. Furthermore, Season 5 has been the most praised installment of the show, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 70%, compared to Season 2, the least appreciated installment, which has a meager 58% score.
Netflix is keeping the plot details for the upcoming season under wraps. Nevertheless, one might speculate that Gabriel's asking Emily to join him in Greece, where he has taken up a new job, might rekindle their old flame. Star himself revealed in an interview with Variety magazine, "I can’t imagine the series without Gabriel." This is further attested by their previously established pattern of on-and-off romance. It goes without saying that although Emily enjoyed a blissfully romantic summer with her Italian beau Marcello in Rome, their relationship failed to take off, particularly owing to Emily's feelings for her former partner.
On the other hand, another prominent narrative arc involves Emily's best friend Mindy deciding to be with Nico after he accepted his proposal despite having feelings for Emily's former partner, Alfie. Season 5 saw promising chemistry between Mindy and Alfie, and one can only hope it will intervene in her wedding plans in the upcoming season. All the previous seasons and episodes of 'Emily in Paris' are available on Netflix, and the sixth season doesn't have a release date as of this writing.
