ABC delays ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ this week, but Season 22 Episode 17 will return sooner than you think
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is currently on a hiatus and won’t be releasing its much-awaited Season 22 Episode 17, titled 'Through the Fire,' tonight. Unfortunately, fans eager to watch the episode will have to wait a few more weeks before the show releases it. The medical drama is expected to return on April 30 with major plot twists involving some of the main characters. As fans already know, cast members, including Owen Hunt (played by Kevin McKidd) and Teddy Altman (played by Kim Raver), are already set to say goodbye to the show. However, viewers are concerned about the upcoming final episodes and shocking twists. For the fans wondering about upcoming ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ episodes, the current season will have a total of 18 episodes.
ABC released a post via their Instagram last week, stating the 'break' in the caption: “Whew, we need a break from all this stress. See you April 30.” The promo for the upcoming 'Grey's Anatomy' episode reveals unexpected situations at Grey Sloan. The doctors learn about a firefighter getting injured in a structure fire. Ben Warren (played by Jason George), a former firefighter, asks which firehouse was at the scene. Soon, they learn that the injured firefighter was Maya Bishop (played by Danielle Savre). As she gets admitted, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (played by Caterina Scorsone) informs her about the emergency surgery. Fans must remember Maya from ABC's Station 19, married to Dr. Carina DeLuca (played by Stefania Spampinato). Given that Maya is in a critical state, fans might also see Carina by her side in the finale.
Further, the promo features Ben telling the hospital chief, Teddy Altman, about the bridge collapse. She reveals that it’s the same bridge that Owen takes to work. Despite the fans already knowing about Owen and Teddy’s departure from the show, the visuals were still shocking. Owen could be seen in an unconscious state, floating in his car under the bridge. He was trapped wearing his seatbelt while his car was sinking in the water. Richard Webber (played by James Pickens Jr.) informs everyone about the emergency situation. "This is an all-hands-on-deck situation," he said. Soon, in an unexpected twist, Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo) tells Dr. Bailey (played by Chandra Wilson) about another emergency surgery. It was for Nick Marsh, Meredith’s love interest on the show.
With such major plot-twists and shocking situations surrounding fan-favorite characters, viewers are eager to witness the season finale. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 22 finale will be released on May 7. The last episode is titled 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.' However, there is no promo or synopsis available for the finale, yet. Earlier this year, the show took a mid-season break in January, which lasted for about a month. As of now, the show’s on a hiatus from Thursday onwards. The highly anticipated finale episodes will mark the end of the current season, featuring major revelations. Only after that, fans can anticipate how the upcoming season of 'Grey's Anatomy' might potentially look.
