Quentin Tarantino says 'Kill Bill Vol. 3' is definitely 'in the cards': 'I have an idea now that could be interesting'
Quentin Tarantino has plans for a third 'Kill Bill' movie!
The director appeared on Andy Cohen's Radio Show and talked about having an idea on how to make the third installment of the Samurai crime thriller, Collider reported.
In addition, he also told Cohen about his dinner with Uma Thurman this week and that implies the actor would pretty much be on board with the idea of Vol. 3.
Previously, Tarantino's idea for the plot of Vol. 3 involved the daughter of Vivica A. Fox’s character going on her own mission for vengeance and trying to kill The Bride.
According to IndieWire, he told Cohen: "I have an idea now that could be interesting. I just had dinner with Uma Thurman last night,” Tarantino told Cohen. "We were at a really cool Japanese restaurant. I do have an idea of what I would do with ['Kill Bill Vol. 3']. That was the whole thing, conquering the concept. What has happened to The Bride since then? And what do I want to do?"
Tarantino added, "I didn’t just want to come up with some cockamamie adventure. [The character] doesn’t deserve that. The Bride has fought long and hard. I have an idea now that could be interesting. I still wouldn’t do it for a little bit. It would be at least three years from now. It is definitely in the cards." Tarantino conceived Kill Bill as a homage to "grindhouse" cinema including martial arts films, samurai cinema, blaxploitation films, and spaghetti westerns.
Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time With Hollywood' was nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Golden Globe nomination and is expected to also bag multiple Oscar nominations. The director, in the meantime, has committed to retiring from filmmaking after his tenth movie, meaning there is one more project to go. He said last month fans should expect a delay between “Hollywood” and his 10th movie.
