On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom gave a moving and heartfelt speech to the people of the country amidst the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed over 60,000 lives worldwide with over 1.1 million confirmed cases.

"We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return. We will be with our friends again, we will be with our families again, we will meet again,” the Queen said in her speech.

She also made a direct reference to her first radio broadcast in 1940, when she and her sister Margaret rallied the nation during WWII.

“Once again, many will feel a painful sense of separation from their loved ones,” she said Sunday. “But now, as then, we know, deep down, that it is the right thing to do.” She continued, "The pride in who we are is not part of our past. It defines our present and our future".

Americans took to Twitter to express their gratitude at the Queen's speech as discontent in President Donald Trump's handling of the crisis grows.

One user tweeted, "After listening to the compassionate, and uplifting speech by Queen Elizabeth, Trump has wisely decided not to give one of his vomit-inducing press conferences today. And this one bit of positive news on Palm Sunday has lifted the spirit of millions of Americans. #TrumpIsALoser."

Another tweeted, "Queen Elizabeth just gave a beautiful, movin' and compassionate speech that lifted the souls of all that heard it, as compared to Trump's narcissistic, ramblin' word vomit that leaves everyone in confusion, fear, and dread." A user tweeted, "The Queen gave a wonderful speech. Moving & stirring & brave. She is dignified. Our guy is a madman. @realDonaldTrump is still bragging about his Facebook status. He’s an incompetent a**hole."

One wrote, "Watching Queen Elizabeth II giving a motivational, empathetic speech reading off a teleprompter....which reminds me that tRUmp cannot be motivational, empathetic and, more importantly, cannot read off a teleprompter." One user tweeted, "Queen Elizabeth II is 93 years old. In her address to the UK and the Commonwealth today, she read her speech more clearly and with more energy than Donald Trump has as President. Donald Trump is 73 years old and he is not as lucid as someone 20 years his senior!"

Some also referred to Trump's ongoing tiff with mask manufacturer, 3M. “We’re not happy with 3M. We’re not at all happy with 3M. And the people who dealt with it directly are not happy with 3M,” Trump said at a White House press briefing last Friday.

One user wrote, "3M boxes appeared in the middle of the Queen's speech. I wonder what will Trump say about it." Another tweeted, "Incredible when she showed a photo of herself &Margaret in 1940 rallying British nation in WWII. However, I thought u might want to see a photo I took during her speech today of British soldiers unloading quite a few 3M boxes LOL #tcot."

One user tweeted, "The producers of the Queen's speech video with a little dig at Trump ... showing British soldiers unloading boxes marked with the 3M logo off military trucks #QueensSpeech."
