Pro streamer xQc weighs in on Pokimane's 'Myna Snacks' after it receives backlash on Internet: 'It does look kind of similar'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Twitch and Kick star Felix Lengyel, popularly known as xQc, has recently weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Myna Snacks, the new food venture of Imane Anys, better known as Pokimane.
For those unaware, on November 14, 2023, Pokimane's snacks received a backlash when a user on X observed similarities between them and Toatzy's Midnight Mini Cookies, previously available at Costco.
What did xQc say about Myna Snacks?
During a livestream on November 15, 2023, xQc compared Myna Snacks with Toatzy Midnight Mini Cookie, and his first reaction was, "Let me look. I mean... it does look kind of similar. Yeah. The f**k?"
On November 15, 2023, Twitch chatters brought up the controversy surrounding Pokimane's food brand just as xQc was starting his livestream. In an attempt to find out more, he started looking through X, comparing Myna Snacks with Toatzy Midnight Mini Cookie.
To ascertain the veracity of netizens' allegations, xQc undertook a "third-party investigation" subsequent to its initial assertion that the two cookie brands were similar.
He said, "Guys, I'm doing a third-party investigation. Hey, hold up! Everybody, back up! Guys, I am a third-party investigator. Okay? Guys, I don't usually like clicking on @FearedBuck's f**king Twitter s**t because it's usually click-bait and misinformation. If I was in Poki's shoes, I wouldn't want that to happen. Unless it's true."
xQc then reviewed the "Nutrition Facts" for Myna Snacks and Toatzy Midnight Mini Cookie from @FearedBuck's tweet.
While comparing the values, the former Overwatch pro remarked, "Total fat - 9g (12%). Saturated fat - 3.5g (18%). Trans fat - 0g. Cholesterol - 0g. Sodium - 75g (3%). Carbohydrates - 14g (5%). Dietary Fiber - 2g. Total Sugars - 8g. Protein - 2g. What the f**k? Huh? Yo, I'm f**king confused! Wait, is it the same thing?"
The streamer concluded by saying, "Sometimes, chat, gamers - we get into these things, okay? And, we don't know s**t about the world. Okay? Is this normal or not? Guys, is this normal or not?"
Internet reacts to xQc's take on Myna Snacks
In just a few hours of being uploaded, xQc's stream on YouTube had more than 58K views and several comments. A user wrote, "It's a scam. It's a joke. For that reason, I'm out."
Another user wrote, "Imagine having "no fiber" as a marketing tool on your cookies Imao. Fiber is good for you, especially if you're eating cookies."
The next user wrote, "This is Pokey's real attitude towards all her viewers, friends and people in general. All she wants is to just make money. Actions always show more than words."
A user labeled Pokimane as a psychopath and wrote, "I always felt like Pokimane is an actual Psychopath, I swear I've never seen her show an ounce of empathy in like 7 years of streaming."
While one user said, "I honestly don't know why streamers don't just stick to selling merch. People already donate money just for sitting in a chair and giving them some pseudo attention. Almost every time they come out with a new "product" it ends up going very poorly."
