New parents Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were papped over the weekend as they stepped out for a dinner date for the first time since welcoming their first baby via surrogacy. Priyanka Chopra decided to keep it casual as she rocked a pair of washed denim with a striped shirt. Nick Jonas too seemed to be in a laidback mood as he donned a sharp pair of casuals while rocking a sling bag.
‘The Matrix Resurrections’ star had her face covered with a mask the entire time she was in front of the cameras and Nick too followed the safety protocols. Priyanka's decision to go for surrogacy had sparked a debate earlier as a few supported the idea while others slammed her for it.

Sharing a joint statement with their fans and followers on Instagram, the Hollywood power couple announced the birth of their first kid via surrogacy. The statement, without revealing the gender of the baby, read, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for your privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.” The Daily Mail later confirmed that the duo had welcomed a baby girl. However, it was later reported that the baby was born 12 weeks premature.
Both Priyanka and Nick have so far refrained from sharing the pictures of the newborn and have also not given a health update on the little one. Even the name of the kid has been kept under wraps. The baby, as per the reports of the Daily Mail, is supposed to stay in the SoCal hospital until she is healthy enough to come home. MEAWW will keep you posted.
Multiple reports earlier suggested that the couple was expecting the baby to come in April and that the actress had planned her schedule accordingly. In an interview with Vanity Fair in January, Priyanka, who has been married to Nick since 2018, shed some light on having kids. “They're a big part of our desire for the future. By God's grace, when it happens, it happens”, said the 39-year-old actress.
'Priyanka doesn't have any fertility issues’
A source spilled the beans on Priyanka Chopra not opting for the natural way of delivering a baby after she got dragged on the Internet. “Priyanka doesn't have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now so it's not getting any easier," said the insider last month. The source added, “Their busy work schedules also mean that it's difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route” adding, “This is the woman's fifth surrogacy. They met her and really liked her. The baby had been due in April but the surrogate ended up giving birth on Sunday, so she was very premature.”
Priyanka and Nick had an extravagant wedding in India with two glamorous ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. The couple got married over the course of five days with one Hindu and one Christian ceremony.
