LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It seems that Lisa Marie Presley’s death has opened a whole new set of problems for the Presley family. The deceased singer-songwriter had apparently changed her will to remove her mother Priscilla Presley and appoint her children Riley Keough and now-deceased son Benjamin as trustees of the Presley estate and now, Priscilla is contesting the will. Amidst her preparation for the legal proceedings, it has now been reported that Keough and Priscilla are not on speaking terms.

Over the past month, representatives of both parties have been exchanging terms back and forth. It is not yet confirmed how much money Lisa had left behind, it is being said that the deceased daughter of Elvis Presley had apparently spent all the money from her $100 million inheritance, according to Daily Mail. News of the strained relationship between Keough and Priscilla comes weeks after the latter had advised fans to “ignore the noise” over the media’s painting of the dispute.

Growing rift between Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley

“Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member,” an insider in the know had said. They added, “Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Riley and Priscilla aren’t communicating at this time, but have been in communication through lawyers.”

The source has also stated that Keough “would prefer to settle this dispute privately,” but both parties are preparing for a legal battle at court. “She is heartbroken that this has turned into a public matter and knows her mother would never want this,” the source said, noting that Keough is “very stressed” but “trying to keep a positive attitude.”

Priscilla believes the documents had been forged

Priscilla is arguing about the validity of her daughter’s will, which she had been written out of. She claims that the Lisa's signatures on the papers were “inconsistent.” It has been assumed by many fans that Priscilla's move to control the estate is a ‘money grab,’ but the insider claims that she is genuinely convinced that the signatures were forged.

More recently, friends of Lisa had spoken about how she and her mother were not on speaking terms for years before her death, and that she would “be pissed” at her mother’s attempts to control the estate. “Lisa didn’t want to have anything to do with her mom,” a friend said according to Page Six. Lisa's pal added, “She was basically estranged from Priscilla for the last seven to eight years. They only talked when there was no option.”
