Prince William and Prince Charles hug it out in newly released Father’s Day photo series
It was a double celebration on Sunday, June 21, Prince William he turned 38, as he celebrated Father’s Day. To mark the special day, the Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a very warm photo of William embracing his father, Prince Charles. The photo was reportedly taken in December 2019 by Kate. The same post also shared a photo of little Kate with her father, Michael Middleton.

The official social media account of William and Kate also celebrated the former one’s birthday by sharing playful pictures of the Duke with his three children. The first picture of William with Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, was shared ahead of the birthday that showed the four on a swing. While the other two pictures, showing William playing and laughing with the three kids was shared on Sunday. The caption of the post read: “Thank you everyone for your very kind wishes on The Duke of Cambridge's birthday today! 🎂 🎈”
Clarence House, an Instagram account featuring the life, work, and activities of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, was also filled with father’s day special posts. The first post contained two pictures. The first picture showed young Charles in his father, Prince Philip’s arms while the Queen stands with them holding Princess Anne. The photo was taken at Clarence House in 1951. While the second photo featured Charles with his sons William and Prince Harry. “Whether you are a Father, a Dad, a Daddy or a Pa, wishing you a Happy Father’s Day!” the caption of the post read. Besides, the 71-year-old also wished his elder son a very happy birthday by sharing the same post put on social media by William and Kate that showed the father-son together smiling at the camera. “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duke of Cambridge today! 🎊” Clarence House wrote in the post.
In addition, Queen Elizabeth II shared a series of old pictures on the occasion of father’s day featuring Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, with his children. “Wishing you all a happy #fathersday 📷Here’s a collection of photographs from the #RoyalArchives of The Duke of Edinburgh with his children,” the caption read. The 94-year-old Queen also wished William on his special day by sharing a photo of him with the Highness. “Wishing The Duke of Cambridge a very Happy Birthday 🎂” the photo was captioned.
Meanwhile, a recent report has claimed that Harry has been leaning on William as he struggles to settle in Los Angeles, California after Megxit. A source revealed that the Duke of Sussex has been taking advice from his elder brother as he settles in his new life with wife Meghan Markle and son Archie, while facing challenges, including security issues that celebrities face in Los Angeles, California.
“Moving to a completely different country is never easy for anyone, including Harry. And he wasn’t expecting to be faced with so many obstacles,” the source said, adding that the 35-year-old had “unrealistic expectations” of what life in Los Angeles would be and “saw L.A. through rose-colored glasses”.
