Prince Harry claims that he had emailed Jack Dorsey about the Capitol Hill riot plan being hatched on Twitter before January 6

Prince Harry has claimed in a panel discussion that prior to the January 6 siege on the US Capitol, he had informed Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about a "coup" being prepared on the social media network.

Jack Dorsey and Harry were emailing each other about the issue before January 6, Prince Harry said on Tuesday, November 9 during a virtual panel called 'The Internet Lie Machine'.

Harry and Meghan Markle don't have Twitter accounts. During the panel, the Duke of Sussex lambasted the media in general, telling moderator and WIRED editor-at-large Steven Levy that misinformation was also a problem in the press.

“I warned him that his problem was allowing a coup to be staged,” he said. “That email was sent the day before. And then it happened and I haven’t heard from him since.” He slammed UK outlets for turning fact-based news into opinion-based gossip. “I learned from a very early age the incentives of publishing are not necessarily aligned with the incentives of truth,” Harry added.

“I lost my mother to this self-manufactured rabidness,” he said remembering the late Princess Diana. “And obviously not to lose the mother to my children to the same thing.”

Many took to Twitter to voice their opinions. A Twitter user said, "Prince Harry, meanwhile, warned Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey the day before January 6th that he was allowing a coup to be staged on his platform, believes that “literally everyone around the world” is being affected by internet disinformation." Another user commented, "Prince Harry claims he warned Twitter boss of 'coup' the day before US Capitol riots. Thought the gruesome twosome had gone quiet."

Another said, "Prince Harry Giving TV interviews, saying he had sent emails to Jack Dorsey, advising him there was a coup being planned on Twitter to take over the Washington Capitol building. Did he contact the Feds by any chance?" Yet another user said, "!!interesting that #PrinceHarry can monitor Twitter so closely that he could warn @Jack about a possible coup on 6 Jan, but has somehow never come across the vile abuse and death threats directed to the Cambridge children from his rabid fan base. Funny how that works!"
