Prince Charles will continue to financially support Prince Harry and Meghan Markle post them stepping down as senior royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would not be receiving taxpayer handouts once they have forgone royal life. However, Harry's father Prince Charles will continue to fund their privileged lifestyle via the Duchy of Cornwall. The money they receive usually is estimated to be around £2.3 million ($3 million) a year. Recently, Buckingham Palace also revealed that Harry and Meghan would give up their Sovereign Grant money that amounts to around £100,000 ($130 K) a year. The couple has also promised to pay back the £2.4 million ($3.1 million) Sovereign Grant cash that they used to revamp their UK home of Frogmore Cottage.

An insider shared with Daily Mail, "' Prince Charles's attitude is always just pay what needs to be paid and move on. It’s usually the path of least resistance when it’s to do with the boys."

The reports of Prince Charles continuing to fund the two follows the couple's announcement to become 'financially independent'. Harry and Meghan's bombshell announcement to step back as senior royals read, "We intend to step back as ''senior'' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

A royal expert shared that Harry and Meghan will no longer receive public funding "but will continue to receive funds from the Prince of Wales privately." Since stepping down as Royal Highnesses, they will be free to pursue other forms of income. It is still unclear as to how the pair will repay the  £2.4 million ($3.1 million) that they owe for Frogmore Cottage.

We had previously reported that 'Megxit' has given Meghan Markle the freedom from the otherwise restrained Buckingham life. She was seen making full use of it and drove by herself to the airport to pick up a pilates expert from the United States, reportedly her friend. Harry too was seen out and about in the UK and went to a pub dinner with some friends.
