A royal commentator has claimed that Prince Harry hates being seen as a “loose cannon” while his elder brother Prince William is considered “the sensible one”. Duncan Larcombe revealed to Ok! magazine that he saw the beginning of a storm 12 years ago when he met the Duke of Sussex for a drink after the results of the inquest into the death of their mother, Lady Diana, were published.

Recalling the meeting, the journalist said: “I remember meeting Harry for a drink just after the results of the inquest into his mother’s death were published. Harry was absolutely furious that his father’s advisors had put out a statement. That was a sign to me that he has an inbuilt, unresolved anger about having no control of what’s said. This desire to control his own destiny has always been there.” Larcombe added, “Harry has never been able to shake that resentment of not feeling normal either. It’s a shame that no one has said to him, ‘Your brother wants what’s best for you'.”

The upcoming explosive book, ‘Finding Freedom’, written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, has laid bare the alleged rift between the royal brothers. The biography has also claimed that Harry did not like William’s advice when he asked him not to rush into marrying “this girl”, referring to Meghan Markle.

“It’s perfectly legitimate for William, as future king, to suggest this to his brother, but sadly Harry interpreted his advice as an anti-Meghan attack,” claimed Larcombe. He also said that the book’s claims that it was always “William the calm and rational one” would annoy the younger brother. The commentator continued: “Harry once told me that he really resents the perception that William’s the sensible one while he’s the loose cannon. He said there were times when it was actually Harry giving William advice.”

Larcombe told Ok! Magazine that royal fans would love to see Harry and William together just like earlier times. He added, “They’re like the royal version of the Gallagher brothers. Just as we’re still waiting for Liam and Noel to hug and make up, we want Harry and William back on the royal stage together.”

This comes after royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell said that the 35-year-old prince is suffering from “a second son complex” after living in the shadow of William. She also claimed that the father-of-one is "painfully troubled and unhinged by being the second son". “Harry suffers from a second son complex. He’s not counting his blessings at all. I’ve studied history, and he has the biggest chip on his shoulder of any member of the Royal Family in the past few centuries,” Lady C said, adding: “He has been so painfully troubled and unhinged by being the second son. Diana would big up his ego when he was younger. I remember thinking he needs to remember he can’t have it all. Barring a terrible disaster, he won’t be the next king.”

The socialite, who was a close friend of Diana, also partially blamed the late princess for Harry and Meghan’s current situation. She explained, “Diana would encourage Harry to be more rebellious. She used to tell both boys, 'I don’t care what you do as long as I don’t find out’. It wasn’t the soundest advice growing up.”
