Piers Morgan receives backlash for Andrew Tate interview: ‘Who cares what he has to say’
BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Piers Morgan is facing criticism for a recent interview with Andrew Tate, the self-described misogynist influencer who is known for his contentious and provocative views.
The TV presenter sat down with the Tate brothers (Tristan and Andrew) last week for an interview that went on air on Monday, November 20. Tate was arrested in December 2022 on allegations of rape, human trafficking, and organized crime.
Piers Morgan slammed for giving Tates publicity
The decision to give a platform to Tate and his brother Tristan, who also participated in the interview, sparked some serious anger on social media platforms like Instagram and X (previously known as Twitter).
Dr Charlotte Proudman, a lawyer and gender equality activist, wrote on Twitter, “Just heard Piers Morgan is apparently on a flight back from Romania after interviewing Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist. Who on earth would give a platform to a man awaiting trial for rape & sexual trafficking? Who cares what he has to say. Let’s hear survivor’s voices.”

Additionally, Morgan uploaded a picture on his Instagram from the controversial interview. It also received backlash, with one user saying, "Such a shame. Nearly makes me want to stop supporting you. I don't understand why you give a platform to people like this. You're already rich and famous. You have no reason to do this."

Another wrote,"This isn't an exclusive you should be proud of." Someone else noted, "I like a lot of Piers' stuff but I could not give less of a fuck about this if I tried." Meanwhile, another said, "Jesus, Piers! Why give them the oxygen of publicity?"
