Piers Morgan slams 'The Talk' hosts for 'bullying' Sharon Osborne, seeks apology for calling him a 'racist'
British talk show host Piers Morgan took to social media to speak out against the hosts of CBS's 'The Talk' for "shaming & bullying" fellow host Sharon Osborne, and to demand an apology for "disgraceful slurs" against him. Morgan tweeted in response to an apology tweeted by Osborne in the aftermath of her defense of Morgan as she asked her co-hosts to give examples of when Morgan had been racist.
The events stem from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on CBS on Sunday, March 7, during which Markle spoke about her struggles while being with the royal family. Markle also reflected on her "suicidal thoughts" while she was pregnant with Archie and how she did not receive help from the family. Markle and Harry also said that an unnamed royal family member had "several discussions" with the Duke of Sussex about the then-unborn Archie's skin color and "what it would mean."

Morgan had accused the Sussexes of damaging the royal family and seeking publicity on their own terms, without accepting the responsibility and scrutiny that came with their position. He also stormed off the set of 'Good Morning Britain' on Tuesday, following an on-air row with co-host Alex Beresford.
On 'The Talk', as the co-hosts discussed Markle's interview and Morgan's response to it, Osborne was speaking to co-host Sheryl Underwood, who was on the verge of tears, saying that she felt Morgan was just expressing an opinion. Osborne said, "I know he has a right to say what he feels on the interview, as we have a right to say and everybody has a right to say what they feel with freedom of speech." Osborne then dabbed her eyes and asked Underwood not to cry, saying, "Because if anyone should be crying, it should be me." Osborne then proceeded to ask Underwood to "educate her" about when Morgan had been racist.
While Amanda Kloots told Osborne that while Morgan is her friend, "it doesn't mean you support what he says," Elaine Welteroth said that it was time to stand up for "anti-racism." The hosts then called out Osborne while telling her that Morgan was the problem.
Osborne later tweeted an apology, writing, "After some reflection, after sitting with your comments & sitting with my heart I would like to address the discussion on The Talk this past Wednesday." She proceeded to say that she is "truly sorry" to anyone of color that she "offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said."
Osborne also said that she "panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear & horror of being accused of being racist take over." She went on to say that she does not condone "racism, misogyny or bullying."
In response, Morgan retweeted Osborne's tweet, demanding an apology from the hosts of 'The Talk', writing, "Sharon's been shamed & bullied into apologising for defending me against colleagues accusing me of racism because I don't believe Meghan Markle's bullsh*t. This is where we've reached. I demand an apology from those @TheTalkCBS bullies for their disgraceful slurs against ME."

Many took to social media to call out Morgan's latest statement, with one user writing, "You can freedom of speech, but you can’t complain when people disagree Piers. It’s hypocritical." Another wrote, "Oh shut up you fucking ball bag. She didn’t get “shamed and bullied” she got called out for supporting a racist, miserable, misogynistic prick." One user tweeted, "Clearly Piers Morgan STILL can't get it through your thick head the freedom of speech does not exclude freedom from consequence. I'll dumb it down for you, if you chat shit, expect to get called a tosser. Simples."
