'Pennyworth' Season 3 Episode 4: What is going on between Alfie and Sandra?
Alfie's love life in 'Pennyworth' is far from being a swift ride as we know. If you watch the series regularly then you know how rocky Alfie's romantic relationships have been. Alfred first met Esme while working as security at a downtown club in London where she was dancing in the pilot episode of the series. Alfred approached Esme and asked her out on a date. The relationship between the two grew as time passed, leading to Alfred eventually asking Esme to marry him, and Esme agreeing. However, complications arose when Esme's father Evelyn Winikus declined to bless the marriage - promising to disinherit Esme if the two were to marry, an ordeal which led to Esme handing back Alfred's ring and the marriage being called off.
Esme planned to move away to pursue a dancing and acting career, however, Alfred, realizing his loss, rented an apartment for the two using money acquired from his business deal with Martha Kane (now Wayne) and the No Name League. The two eventually fixed their differences and Esme accepts Alfred's marriage proposal once again, but she eventually gets killed.

What is going on between Alfie and Sandra?
After being heartbroken for quite a long time and having a hard time getting over Esme, Alfie finally finds someone he falls in love with. Sandra Onslow and Alfred Pennyworth are in a healthy relationship. Now Alfred runs his club, and Sandra works there as a singer on stage. Their relationship is getting more complex and dramatic with each passing episode.
However, in this episode we see Alfie waking up in bed with Sandra, but after her friends ruin the 'mood,' he makes a swift exit and helps the Wayne family out with their family drama in exchange for a million dollars; however that does not happen.
By the end of the episode, viewers witness Alfie walking in on Dave and Sally making love. As a result, Sandra and Alfie are trapped in a room, not wanting to interrupt Dave and Sally while they are going at it. While Alfie is reluctant at first and tells Sandra 'he can't,' soon it is shown that they are kissing and everything is merry again between the two.
Sandra first appears in 'The Landlord's Daughter' episode, when Jason Ripper comes on to her, much to her dismay. Her father, being afraid of Jason and his reputation, ignores this behavior. Alfred Pennyworth notices this and offers Pennyworth Security as a solution.
