'Ever watched opera in the ****? 'Wheel of Fortune' fans slam Pat Sajak's '#MeToo' moment with Vanna White
'Wheel of Fortune' host Pat Sajak's newest gaffe has fans rolling their eyes and screaming. Viewers were confused as Sajak, 75, asked letter-turner Vanna White a stunning question on April 13, Wednesday's episode of the long-running game show.
Ashley Fabian, a professional opera singer, won $67,410 in both regular play round and the bonus puzzle. However, she appeared to be caught in the middle of a strange dialogue between Sajak and White, 65. Sajak inquired White, "Are you an opera buff at all?"

"Yes," White replied, "I'm not a buff, but I like opera." Things started to get a little strange from there. "Have you ever watched opera in the buff?" Sajak pondered, "I'm just curious." White laughed it off after responding with a stern "No."
The awkward exchange elicited a few raised eyebrows online as one user tweeted, "I feel like I just witnessed a #metoo moment on @WheelofFortune?"

"'Have you ever watched opera in the buff?' Pat Sajak to Vanna White. When did this game show turn into Wheel of Fortune After Dark?" another user wrote, while another remarked, "Dude is trying to keep the thrill alive for this job any way he can. I’m amazed he hasn’t resorted to torturing contestants during the show."

White first appeared on 'Wheel of Fortune' in 1982, while Sajak took over as host a year later. This is the latest in a long line of episodes on the show that have sparked outrage among viewers.
Sajak sparked controversy earlier this month when competitor Chris Davidson missed out on a trip to Puerto Rico after making a beginner error answering a question. Instead of correctly response "frozen concoction," he added an extra article and said, "a frozen concoction" before correcting himself by saying "frozen concoction." However, that answer was quickly dismissed by the judges. "Chris knows what he did, which is why he went back," Sajak said.
Sajak, a Chicago native, added, "He threw in that article. He threw in the 'a' in front of it, and we can't accept it. Just the way it goes. It's just one of the rules, and we gotta go by 'em, and Carol ends up getting the trip to Puerto Rico."
Nevertheless, Davidson received some money although it might not make up for the lost opportunity of a sunny holiday. He progressed to the bonus round, and his total winnings came to $13,900. Other episodes have featured Sajak's odd confrontations with contestants, as well as bizarre guesses by puzzled contestants and seemingly "incorrect" winning answers.
