Gloria and Javier may believe in their children strongly, but the Acosta siblings seem completely underprepared to face the challenges their new life is throwing at them.

Episode 2 of ‘Party of Five’ followed the lives of the Acosta siblings’ after the deportation of their parents. The harsh reality hasn’t given them much time to grieve their loss, as they need to pull their socks up and go on.

‘Margin of Error’ sees issues erupt between the siblings, mainly due to the conflict in their interests. With over nine hundred dollars in hand, Valentina is determined to see her parents. But Emilio rather wants to use the money for “something better’, as he feels they can’t afford a trip to Mexico.

The latest episode also throws light on Beto and Lucia’s strained relationship. The twins are a world apart in terms of their approach to life and intellect. Lucia fails to help Beto with his physics test as promised when she gets cornered by Olivia around the same time. Lucia ends up betraying Beto unintentionally and the relationship between the duo turns rockier.

As the episode progresses, we observe how the sudden independence isn’t treating the Acosta siblings so well. They try too hard to sport a smile before their parents during their routine family call, but end up bickering during the video call when Valentina calls Emilio an “asshole” for not letting her go to Mexico.

And, Beto also blurts out the truth about his terrible performance in his physics test holding Lucia responsible.

As the situation gets ugly, the Acosta siblings hang up on their parents, too entangled in their own issues. After thinking through their actions, the siblings decide to work out the issues keeping their differences aside when they realize that family is all they are left with after all.

But, we can’t ignore the fact that they have just begun a new journey and have several more obstacles to overcome. It remains to be seen if the Acosta siblings will form a stronger bond with time or fall apart.
