PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, WASHINGTON DC: The gaffes run in the house! In yet another hilarious blunder, the White House has again caught itself in the fury of online trolls. Surprisingly it was White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who stole the spotlight this time.

During a World Bank briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre erroneously referred to President Joe Biden as “President Obama” off the top on Thursday, February 23. However, after Karine Jean-Pierre's slip of the tongue, the press and the room swiftly burst into a chuckle and continued with their announcement.

What really happened?

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was announcing the new president, former MasterCard CEO Ajay Banga to lead the World Bank on Thursday. She said, “So today, as you all saw just an hour or so ago, President Obama announced that — um, pardon me, President Biden!”

Karine Jean-Pierre quickly corrected herself amid gasps and laughter from the White House press corps. “Whoa! Ahem, that is news,” she said. “I know, I know. We’re going back, not forwards. We got to go forward.”

'President Harris?'

Furthermore, President Joe Biden, who is always trending for his infamous gaffes has repeatedly addressed Vice President Kamala Harris as the president, including as recently as last month, January. President Joe Biden was making remarks on immigration at the White House when he passed the conversation to Vice President Kamala Harris. “President Harris led this effort — led this effort to make things better in the countries from which they are leaving,” President Joe Biden said.

'I really don't think it's a blunder!'

However, Internet users seem to have read into the joke with many claiming President Barack Obama is running the administration. One user wrote on Twitter, "I said it before, I'll say it again, I think Obama is running the show. I think it was a Freudian mistake." Another user wrote, "Probably because O is briefing her instead of #LetsGoBrandon." A third tweeted, "I really don't think it's a blunder, it's what we refer to as a freudian slip. Brandon is not running the show. Brandon has just enough brain cells left to remember how to swallow....he's not running anything." A fourth chimed, "True, but a Freudian slip is a blunder." "The truth came out," read a tweet. "First correct thing she’s said," a user commented.
