Spoilers for 'Paranormal Caught on Camera' Season 3 Episode 7

In this episode titled 'Pennhurst Asylum and More', we see ghost hunters encounter a paranormal shadow/apparition in a Pennsylvania asylum, a haunted statue as home decor, a man hiding in the closet, a poltergeist haunting a woman, among many other things of course. This was a much more interesting episode than the last, with new paranormal bases touched that thankfully don't involve too much of Big Foot or cryptids.

The Pennhurst Asylum in Pennsylvania dubbed "the shame of Pennsylvania" opened in 1908, and as the series noted it was home to many who suffered from cognitive and physical disabilities. Interestingly enough, you can look up the fact that there was an investigation in the 1960s which as the series shows us in a newspaper clipping stated, 'The horror of Pennhurst Asylum: Chilling secrets revealed of mentally-ill patients and children starved and left to die'.

Given that information, it's not too hard to understand why the place would be one for a few hauntings considering many were abused in the span of over 80 years. Thankfully, the asylum was closed down in 1987. When a group of ghost hunters decided to see what the hype was for themselves in November 2019, Spring City, PA, they were greeted with more than enough activity that made them want to run outside those haunted doors.

It's always interesting to see pieces of history considered to have paranormal activity be explored by paranormal experts, it's here we are forced to understand why this is a possibility, and why these souls are still here in the earthly world. History, through many experiences, is far from perfect, and sometimes ghosts are there to remind us of it. The footage is creepy, and will at least give you shivers, even if you don't believe in spirit activity.

Another case that we particularly found interesting was the 'The Boogeyman is real'. This may be a child's tale to most, but what if an adult sees things move by an invisible entity? In 2019, a mother named Destini Palen from Henderson, Kentucky, finds the boogeyman living in her daughter's closet with footage that makes us wonder how dangerous this could be.

Besides the obvious occurrences of her daughter having increased nightmares, and waking up crying in the middle of the night, Palen captures video to prove that there was someone in the closet. From music playing to the door closing, it seems like this Boogeyman doesn't want to hide anymore.

There are of course a few more cases in the episode that will give you goosebumps, but we have to say the above two were our favorite. Also, we can't give up too much. It's weird to see footage of occurrences as such, and some also claim that the footage could be doctored, but who really knows? Although, this was a likely creepier episode than the few that have aired because all the footage was so clear, that it is quite hard to ignore. Like they say in the show, you have to see it to believe it.

'Paranormal Caught on Camera' airs on Sundays at 9 pm ET on the Travel Channel.
