LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The fifth episode of 'Orphan Black: Echoes' on AMC+ ultimately reveals the truth behind Lucy's (Krysten Ritter) origin and her relationship with Dr Kira Manning (Keeley Hawes).

Based on the theme of printed humans, the premise of the series centres around a young woman named Lucy, who discovers she is a printed human as soon as she wakes up in a hospital.

Lucy escapes the facility, bewildered and repulsed by her origins, seeking safety with Jack (Avan Jogia), a single father, and his daughter Charlie (Zariella Langford-Haughton).

However, when an occurrence alerts the Additive Foundation to Lucy's presence, she is forced to embark on a perilous journey of self-discovery as she confronts the dreadful implications of her synthetic birth, and in the fifth episode of the show, she ultimately discovers the truth about her reality.

The episode follows Kira Manning from her academic years to her career and personal life.

Kira first admires Dr Eleanor Miller (Rya Kihlstedt) and subsequently develops feelings for her.

The plot follows their relationship, with Kira working on pioneering bioengineering projects and Eleanor dealing with early-onset Alzheimer's. As Eleanor's disease worsens, Kira embarks on a daring effort to develop bio-printed neurons to assist her lover.

After a series of challenges and Eleanor succumbing to her disease, Kira successfully brings a bio-printed replica of Eleanor, Lucy, to life.

However, despite Lucy being a printed version of Eleanor, she battles with memory lapses and identity concerns.

The episode concludes with Kira pledging to look after Lucy but also expressing concern over the birth of another clone, Jules Lee (Amanda Fix), about whom she does not have any knowledge.
