LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Set in a technologically advanced future where cloning technology is at its peak, the new science-fiction drama, 'Orphan Black: Echoes', follows the quest of a woman seeking answers to her existence.
Anna Fishko's drama follows Lucy (Krysten Ritter), a woman who is aware that she is a clone and takes sanctuary in the countryside, where she develops a love connection with Jack (Avan Jogia) and a deep bond with his deaf daughter Charlie (Zariella Langford).
Things become serious when Lucy is approached by an assassin who brutally assaults her, but Charlie intervenes and surprisingly kills the attacker.
Charlie finally finds closure in 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 3
Later in the show, it is shown that Charlie is still dealing with the repercussions of the shooting, as she holds herself accountable for murdering someone.
Another PTSD-related incident happens when, at the playground, Charlie recalls shooting the henchman and subsequently pushing a child off the playground equipment. When a police officer comes, Charlie uses her phone to confess that she murdered someone.
Tina (Eva Everett Irving) swiftly steps in, stating that Charlie is blaming herself for her hamster's death which prompts the officer to let them go.
Later, Jack urges that Charlie seek closure, which she does after apologizing to the deceased, giving her a feeling of closure.
What does the future hold for Charlie in 'Orphan Black: Echoes'?
Charlie may feel satisfied after her closure, but the episode also shows the Head of Corporate Security Tom (Reed Diamond), and his assistant Emily (Tattiawna Jones) discussing the killer's height.
While Tom is determined to implicate Lucy in the crime, Emily believes that the murder was perpetrated by a youngster.
On the surface, this subplot may seem nothing special, but it is worth noting that Lucy embarked on a mission to butt her head into her past to ensure Charlie and Jack's safety.
If it is discovered that Charlie committed the murder, the cunning Tom can use this information against Lucy to lure her into his trap and possibly prove that she is indeed violent, which could lead to Lucy's elimination.
Given how much Lucy cares for Charlie, it is possible that she will accept responsibility and surrender herself to the Additive Foundation.
On the other side, Charlie may be buried in guilt once again, holding herself accountable for Lucy's troubles.
Overall, given the current circumstances, it is realistic to predict that Charlie's journey ahead is not as rosy as she hopes after her closure.
