Who are Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman?

Nick Friedman is the president and co-founder of College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving, while Omar Soliman is the CEO and co-founder of the junk removal and moving company. Headquartered in the sunny Tampa area, today College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving company is one of the fastest-growing movers and junk removal companies with annual revenue of a whopping $200 Million! But it wasn't always this way, the two entrepreneurs had to jump through several hoops to become as successful as they are today.

Nick and Omar revealed on the show that they knew each other since their tenth grade and have been best friends and business partners for over fifteen years now! In an interview with Tampa Bay Business & Wealth Magazine, Omar revealed, "I met Nick in 10th grade. I think it was in detention, of all places. We kind of looked at each other and started talking about what we were in there for." "I remember one time, Nick was on the basketball team and we were playing a big basketball rivalry game. During the game, a ball came loose and went out of bounds. Nick got entangled with the other team’s mascot and ended up hitting it on its head. I remember seeing that and thinking, ‘Man, I really like that guy,'" the CEO recounted.

But it wasn't until the summer of 2003 when Omar was 21-years-old that College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving was born. During the summer break, Omar's mom gave him her old moving van that the lucrative business took roots. Omar's mother owned a furniture store in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, and he had noticed that during deliveries, customers would often ask if they could haul away old furniture. They were willing to pay $50 or more for the service. He instantly recognized the potential there, so he borrowed his mother's old cargo van and used it to offer junk hauling services. He shared this idea with his best friend Nick, and the duo began thinking of names for their new business. It was Omar's other who came up with the company name, she joked about two college hunks hauling around junk, and that's how the business got its name.

Omar created some fliers, and the next day he started putting them up in the neighborhood. That evening, his phone started to ring, and they scheduled jobs from day one. The business took off and the pair realized that just about everyone had something they needed help removing from their homes. Without experience or much of a plan, the business made more than $8,000 that summer. The taste of entrepreneurship was exhilarating, but Nick and Omar weren’t yet thinking about College HUNKS as a career. They had always been told to study hard, do well in school, and get a nice job working for someone else. They went back to school for their senior years—Nick at Pomona College in California and Omar at the University of Miami.

Nick and Omar got their big push when they won the University of Miami's annual Rothschild Entrepreneurship Competition and bagged the prize money of $10,000. After graduating from their colleges, they briefly worked in other companies before quitting and focussing on growing College HUNKS into a massive business empire.

What is Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman's net worth?

Nick's net worth has been estimated to be at $4 million as per Net Worth Post. Aside from his successful business empire, he is also a published author, public speaker, tv personality, and executive producer of 'Beware of Mr. Baker'. The same outlet estimated Omar's net worth at $10 million. Just like his business partner, Omar too is a published author and a public speaker and co-executive producer of 'Beware of Mr. Baker'.

'Undercover Boss' isn't Nick and Omar's first stint on television. In the early stages of the business, Nick and Omar appeared on the pilot episode of ABC's award-winning show 'Shark Tank'. The two entrepreneurs were featured on the show's pilot episode, where they pitched for their business which was then called "College Foxes Packing Boxes", a full-service packing and professional organizing company. The duo managed to get an offer from Robert Herjavec, but they turned it down and left the tank empty-handed. College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving proved to be a success story despite not getting any of the Sharks onboard. We can't wait to see their journey on 'Undercover boss'.

'Undercover Boss' Season 11 premieres on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 8/7c on CBS.
