A French lawmaker and the son of late aviation billionaire Serge Dassault, Olivier Dassault died on Sunday, March 7. He was 69. As per AFP, Olivier died in a helicopter that crashed near Deauville on the northwestern coast of France.
The father of three died around 6 pm (1700 GMT). France 24 reported that France's national air crash investigation agency revealed in a tweet that the crash had happened after the helicopter took off from "private grounds". Besides Olivier, the pilot was also killed and they were the only two on board the Aerospatiale AS350 Écureuil (Squirrel). The publication further revealed that there is a search area around the crash site that has been sealed off.
