Olivia Colman pranks longtime pal Paul Rudd on radio show with HILARIOUS Welsh accent
LONDON, ENGLAND: Olivia Colman, the award-winning British actress, proved her acting prowess by pulling off a convincing Welsh accent during a recent prank call to her long-time friend Paul Rudd. The hilarious moment happened during Greg James' 'Radio 1 Breakfast' show, where Colman called in pretending to be a fan of Rudd’s work.
The radio show, which was being broadcast from the UK, featured Paul Rudd as a guest to discuss his newest Marvel movie, 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'. Rudd received calls from fans to help out with their problems during a segment called 'Agony Ant-Man'. Calling in 'anonymously', Colman questioned, "What would you do if you had a close friend, for over 20 years, who doesn't live in England but he's come. And he, not only hasn't told you he was visiting, but went on a radio show".

'You really can do every accent'
Greg couldn't help but laugh as Paul started to recognize similarities in the caller's story and realized she was talking about him. Calling in with a false Welsh accent, Coleman began, "Hi Paul, I'm a big fan. So, I wanted to pick your brains. What would you do if you had a really, like a really good mate, like, you know, for over twenty years. This friend, he doesn't live in England but he's come to England and he hasn't told you about it. And then, not only has he not told you about it, he's come onto a radio show. What would you do?" As he placed the puzzle pieces together, Paul's eyes quickly glowed with realization. He simply chuckled and exclaimed, "Oh my god, oh no."
"I know! Would you be offended?" probed Olivia. In an effort to diffuse the situation, Paul joked, "Personally, if it's me? Absolutely not, I tend to give everybody the benefit of the doubt". Paul kept saying, "Oh god," which caught Olivia off guard and made her start to chuckle. James, the host, asked the fourth caller to identify themselves and Olivia revealed to Paul who it was. Impressed by her act, Paul said, "My god, that is such a good, you really can do every accent. By the way, I'm sweating. I'm actually sweating."
Colman and Rudd have been good friends for over 20 years
During the conversation, Olivia mentioned that she and Rudd have been friends for "over twenty years," and they went on to explain how they met. Greg asked them how they met and how their friendship started, and Paul explained, "'Oh we go back, we really go back. Over, god how many years?"
"Over twenty years, we were doing a play together and Paul used to come and stay on the floor of our rubbish flat in South London and come for Sunday lunch and things and yeah," explained Olivia. "Well, Paul was properly in the play and I had about two lines I think. So, I was listening to the Breakfast Show as I always do (because I love you Greg James) and I heard that Paul Rudd is coming on to do Agony Ant-Man and I went "WHAT?" and so I emailed Greg and said "Would it be alright to do a prank on Paul" and he said "hell yeah"'.
