Oli London, a white British influencer, was slammed virtually after saying they wanted a 100% Korean penis reduction surgery. They have been criticized over comments on Korean culture and labeled problematic and racist. Lodon has over 800 k followers on TikTok and 540 k followers on Instagram.

In January 2022, London revealed to Newsweek that they had undergone over 20 plastic surgeries and procedures. This was in an attempt to look like the Korean singer Park J Min from the band BTS.

Why is 'transracial' trending on Twitter? Internet erupts in fury over bizarre 'transphobic trolls'

Owing to the fact that London identifies as Korean and transracial, they have been a controversial topic over the internet. The 'transracial' concept is highly disputed and has been labeled as "a prime example of racism, cultural appropriation, and transphobia" by academics Braden Hill and Stevie Lane from Edith Cowan University in Australia. The experts said in July 2021 that a person cannot identify as 'transracial' in the same way people identify as transgender, because a person does not inherit their gender in the way they inherit their race.

As London took to Twitter to announce their 100% Korean penis reduction surgery plan, social media users accused them of being culturally inappropriate and promoting stereotypes about Asian men.

When talking to Insider, London said they just want to "support the Korean community." Replying to the criticism they faced over the announcement of the surgery, London said that they had no intention to "upset anyone in Korea" and that this surgery is only a way to "have the average size in Korea"

Sandra Song, a renowned Korean-American journalist, said that London's actions and behavior are offensive to her entire community. Song told Insider she thinks the statements London made about penis size have reinforced a racist stereotype that "emasculates" Korean males. It may be meant in a way to depict them as weak and effeminate, she added.

Referencing a 2021 essay from the University of Chicago, Song said, "It's quite unfortunate that Oli is trying to garner even more attention by playing into these racist ideas."

A fellow TikTok user, Phat Ly, who has 1.2 million followers and makes comedic videos around London quite frequently, said London's comments are nothing but a publicity stunt.
