'Notting Hill' director Roger Michell died on Wednesday, September 22. His family announced the news of his demise on Thursday, September 23. The British stage, television and film director was 65 years old. No cause of death was available at the moment.
A statement released by Roger Michell's family said, "It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Michell, director, writer and father of Harry, Rosie, Maggie and Sparrow, announce his death at the age of 65 on September 22nd." We have witnessed the demise of many great stars in recent months. Al Harrington, Rick Aiello, Art Metrano and Jean-Paul Belmondo are to name a few.

Roger Michell, who directed for British theatres including the Royal Court, the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company's had his biggest commercial hit with 'Notting Hill', which was a comedy about an awkward romance between a movie star played by Julia Roberts and a London bookshop owner, played by Hugh Grant. He also made acclaimed television series in the 1990s, including adaptations of Hanif Kureishi’s novel 'The Buddha of Suburbia' and Jane Austen’s 'Persuasion'.
Who was Roger Michell married to?
Roger Michell was married to the actress Kate Buffery and had two children, agent Rosanna Michell and the writer, director and actor Harry Michell. After he divorced Buffery, Michell married Anna Maxwell Martin, with whom he has two daughters, Maggie and Nancy. The couple confirmed their separation in 2020.
