'Hawaii Five-0' star Al Harrington died on Tuesday, September 21. The actor suffered a stroke, his family confirmed. Harrington was 85 years old.

Al Harrington was known for his stint as detective Ben Kokua in 'Hawaii Five-0'. We have witnessed the demise of many great actors in recent months. Jay Pickett, Rick Aiello, Art Metrano and Jean-Paul Belmondo are to name a few.

Al Harrington also appeared in the CBS reboot of 'Hawaii Five-0,' in the recurring role of surf shop owner/bus driver Mamo Kahike from 2011 to 2018. Actor Denis Chunn, who appeared alongside Harrington in the reboot of the series as Sgt Duke Lukela paid tribute to the actor in a long Instagram post that said, "My heart is broken tonight and Hawaii weeps for Al Harrington has left us. AL was not only an actor but he was an entertainer, humanitarian, coach, teacher, community leader, role model and most of all a dear friend." He added, "His role as Ben Kokua in the original Five-O and Mamo in the reboot are iconic portrayals in the legend of Hawaii Five-0. So many memories ... so many tears. Laura and I send our most heartfelt aloha to his wife Rosa and his lovely ohana. Rest well my friend. You have journeyed well. You filled the world with love and aloha and made it a little place. I will miss you."

Fans paid tribute to the actor on social media and posted tweets like, "RIP Al Harrington. I enjoyed him on the show as Mamo. Condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues." One person wrote, "A legend that played in the two Hawaï 5-0 series Rest in peace" Another tweeted, "Oh man, this is just heartbreaking!
