Kaeyra showed off her 'fierce' side

Kaeyra performed 'River' by Bishop Briggs and instantly impressed the judges. However, the singer admitted during a personal interview, "For Showstopper Round, there are no mistakes. I wanted to show my fierce side." Kaeyra further noted that she brought out her bass and wanted to show the judges that she plays more instruments. Before Kaeyra's performance, Lionel explained to Kaeyra how important it is to be indispensable. He further advised, "When you started saying that you were singing in lounges and stuff, I kept thinking, what you don't want is for someone to be eating and not paying attention." Lionel added, "When you said that the bell went off... don't be forgettable."

'American Idol' judges impressed by Kaeyra's act

Kaeyra delivered a thrilling performance and judges can't get over it. The aspiring singer received a loud response from the audience for her performance. Kaeyra also received a standing ovation from the judges, Katy, Lionel, and Luke. Soon after her performance, Kaeyra returned to the room with the judges to know whether she advanced to the next round. Lionel said, "We're looking for people who can wake everybody up, and get everyone's attention the first time out." He added that the contestants should create an 'instant identity' for themselves. Meanwhile, Luke was highly impressed with Kaeyra's performance as he exclaimed, "I got chills all over me!" Kaeyra ultimately earned a spot in the Top 24.

Kaeyra ditches piano over electric guitar

During the Showstoppers, Katy wanted Kaeyra to sing something other than a piano ballad. The aspiring singer went totally different way from her usual instrument. Kaeyra rocked the stage with her electric guitar and the 'American idol' viewers can't get over it. Social media users took to the comment section of Kaeyra's rocking performance video and commented, "So, this young woman, @kaeyra, on #AmericanIdol, reminded me so much of a young @sassjordan when she sang with The Pinups back in the day. Walking on stage with her bass guitar and that growly, raspy voice. I hope she goes far!" Another user noted, "Brought her bass and rocked the house. This was a rough and tumble ride." Another person wrote, "Wow chills She was outstanding She owed the stage."

"It's like- you look like Megan Fox somehow became more badass, developed musical dominance playing like 800 instruments, and than annihilated the competition. All in one day?? Like aren’t you tired??" another viewer said. A fan wrote, "@kaeyra is a rock star and pop star, this baddie can do em both well." Another Instagram user said, "You killed it out there tonight you deserve to be in the top 10 easily you are definitely one of my favorites!! Rock on!!!"
