The news of Ridley’s return sent shockwaves through the entire fandom, with many taking to social media to express their excitement. However, there were many who didn’t want Ridley to return and wanted everything to be new because a lot of fans were not happy with the way how the trilogy was handled.

Rey's return felt like a win to many

One of the fans wrote, “Nice! Exactly what we all wanted!” Another social media user tweeted, “So great to see her again!” Another social media user wrote, “God is good, first time in a while in a long long while I feel excited about star wars again.” But there were many who believed this decision doesn’t excite them.

Meanwhile, others felt meh...

“I speak for everyone when I say we won't be watching,” wrote another social media user. “Sorry, Luke Skywalker is the one who rebuilds the Jedi Order. It's also hilarious that they genuinely expect us to believe this movie is happening,” tweeted another user. “It feels so good not to care about this franchise anymore,” wrote another user. “I am not looking forward to this,” wrote another one.

The reactions to Daisy Ridley re-joining the ‘Star Wars’ universe have been mixed as a lot of people believe that the recent trilogy was one of the lowest points in the franchise’s history. The fan response to the sequel trilogy was divisive, particularly as a result of the final two installments. Although every single movie in the ‘Sequel Trilogy’ went on to earn more than $1 billion globally. But that didn’t stop anyone from calling it a mess.

Fans will be hoping to see something bigger and better this time around.
