Hugh Jackman shows of his muscles in epic taunt at ‘Deadpool 3’ co-star Ryan Reynolds
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman is attempting to outperform Ryan Reynolds in his preparation for their upcoming movie 'Deadpool 3'. The 54-year-old shared a picture on Instagram with fitness trainer Beth Lewis on February 10. As the co-stars continue their friendly battle to get in shape for the Marvel movie, 'Deadpool 3', Jackman appeared in the gym flexing with a dumbbell and tagging Reynolds, 46, in the picture. "He's only 46. I'm older. But it's not a competition," Jackman took a jibe at Reynolds in the caption.
Last week, Reynolds posted a picture of himself working out for the movie, captured by his trainer Don Saladino. He may be seen in the photo holding two 60 lb. barbells, one in each hand, and flexing his imposing muscles. "I'm not training for Deadpool," Reynolds wrote on his Instagram Story. "I'm training to spend several months with @thehughjackman — who's not as nice as everyone thinks."

Wolverine and Deadpool 'hate each other'
Wolverine's role in the much anticipated 'Deadpool 3' will be far greater than a cameo, according to a source who spoke to People. Since the announcement of Wolverine's appearance in the film, the actors have maintained their amusing rivalry. Jackman remarked that the two Marvel superheroes "hate each other" and "are opposites."
In an Instagram video from last month, Jackman playfully pleaded to the Academy not to nominate Reynolds' holiday film 'Spirited', claiming that doing so would "make the next year of my life insufferable." In response, Reynolds made a video backing Jackman for the Best Actor award for his performance in 'The Son', saying, "zero sarcasm here." Though he couldn't help but poke some fun at the end saying, "Wolverine and Deadpool? Who's he kiddin'? Not on your life, Chappie."
Reynolds' video was posted on Instagram by the Wolverine actor with the caption "When @vancityreynolds goes high. I go higher." In October, Jackman quipped to PEOPLE that the actors will probably be seen fighting while filming: "I think being on set with [Ryan] every day and those two on film in every city together every day … I think it's fair to say they'll be punching the s--- out of each other the whole time." He added, "All jokes aside, I'll probably have more fun on this movie than any other I've ever done."
Jackman first played Wolverine in 'X-Men' released in 2000
Jackman initially portrayed the role of the iconic comic book character when the first X-Men movie was released in 2000. He was praised for his performance, which assured his continued involvement in the series. He would go on to play Wolverine in a number of prequels, spinoffs, and sequels before finally hanging up his claws in 2017 with 'Logan'. The movie received positive reviews from reviewers, who applauded the way it acted as a moving farewell for the character.
But after Disney bought 20th Century Fox and pledged to include X-Men characters in the MCU, it was revealed that Jackman would be playing the character again in the third 'Deadpool' movie, giving fans the ultimate crossover they had always desired to see. Marvel has a lot planned for its movies, thus the fans have a lot to look forward to as the series continues to spread across the multiverse.
