'American Idol' Top 7: Nicolina Bozzo's Disney Night performance hailed as 'best performance'
Unlike all of her counterparts on 'American Idol' Season 20, Nicolina Bozzo took a huge risk with her bold song choice for her Disney Night performance, and dare we say, it paid off in spades. In order to secure a spot in the coveted Top 7 round, the top 10 contestants were tasked with the challenge of performing any song from a Disney movie at the Disney World in California, before a crowd of a live audience.
While most contestants picked songs sung by the leads of the movie, Nicolina decided to choose a villain song. She picked Ursula's 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' number from 'The Little Mermaid'. With the help of guest mentor Derek Hough, Nicolina worked on not only her vocals but also the theatrics needed to make her performance an unforgettable act. She took all her learnings and delivered a jaw-dropping performance that ended with a standing ovation from the judges. Just like the judges, the fans too loved every bit of Nicolina's spectacular performance and were pleased when it was announced that she made it through to Top 7 round.

Nicolina will be battling it out in the Top 7 round alongside Jay Copeland, Christian Guradino, Noah Thompson, Fritz Hager, Leah Marlene, and HunterGirl. Mike Parker, Emyrson Flora, and Lady K were eliminated after their Top 10 performance, on account of low votes.
'American Idol' Season 20 airs Sundays and Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
