'American Idol': Lady K eliminated from Top 7, angry fans dub ABC show as 'rigged'

In spite of delivering a moving performance to 'How Far I'll Go' from the Disney movie 'Moana', sadly Lady K failed to impress the audience leading to her elimination from 'American Idol'. After impressing the judges and the audience week after week, Lady K earned her well-deserved spot in the Top 10 on the ABC singing competition show.

The top 10 performers had to compete in the Disney Night special at Disney World, California, in order to secure a spot amongst the Top 7. Under the mentorship of celebrity choreographer Derek Hough, Lady K chose the iconic track from the movie Moana as she related strongly to the song. As the opening act of Disney Night, Lady K delivered a pretty. flawless performance. The judges- Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, were in awe of her and praised her impeccable vocals. Unfortunately, the show's audience didn't share the same feeling as Lady K was eliminated on account of not securing enough votes from the audience.

After learning about her elimination, several fans took to Twitter to slam the voters. A fan tweeted, "Justice for Lady K #AmericanIdol." "Lady K was my girl... not sure how to feel about this :/ #AmericanIdol," wrote a fan. Another fan added, "#AmericanIdol LADY K WAS ROBBED." 

Many fans also accused the show of being 'rigged' as an explanation for Lady K's elimination from the singing competition show. A fan shared, "American Idol is 100% rigged. Christian, Jay, and Fritz should have gone home. Mike, Emyrson, and Lady K should still be there. Their performances were so much better. #AmericanIdol #Rigged #RealityShow." "Yeah I’m done with Idol this year it’s clear the winner is gonna be HunterGirl or Noah! Y’all wrong for sending Lady K home smh #americanidol," seconded a fan. "Still in absolute shock Lady K did not make it to Top 7 she is incredible! #AmericanIdol," expressed a fan. "#AmericanIdol seriously?! Lady K was y’all best this season. Y’all are nuts!" declared a fan.

Lady K was eliminated from 'American Idol' Top 7 alongside Mike Parker and Emyrson Flora.

'American Idol' Season 20 airs every Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
