LOSS OF VIRTUE SIGNAL: Celeb hypocrites Nicole Kidman, Bella Hadid and others slammed for Balenciaga silence
PARIS, FRANCE: Criticism is growing as top celebrities stay mum on the recent Balenciaga controversy with fans slamming Hollywood’s liberal elite over failing to take a stand. These stars include Bella Hadid and Nicole Kidman who regularly feature in the promotional campaign of the fashionwear, and part of the Spring ’23 campaign. However, the luxury maker has scrapped it from the company’s website as the world debates about it.
Balenciaga used toddler models in a holiday campaign shoot while promoting handbags styled like teddy bears in BDSM gear. Further, it also showed the SCOTUS child porn ruling in the background of a shot from their photoshoot. After severe criticism, Kim Kardashian, the label’s biggest ambassador finally commented and said she is "re-evaluating" her association with Balenciaga. French actress Isabelle Huppert also featured in the campaign but is yet to comment on the controversy.

Other Balenciaga brand ambassadors who choose not to comment on the BDSM-inspired ad-campaign include, Kylie Jenner, Alexa Demie, Khloe Kardashian, Doja Cat, and Salma Hayek, whose husband owns Balenciaga’s parent company Kering. Many see them as a hypocrite for their failure to denounce the brand, reports the Daily Mail.
“Notice how not a single bank has dropped Balenciaga? Culture will cancel a canned food company for their CEO voting Red, but not a fashion brand promoting child pornography," said the conservative activist, Misan Harriman. Harriman, the chair of London's Southbank Centre and a photographer shared a video on Twitter urging people with influence to talk more about the Balenciaga controversy, “The average man and woman need to see leaders in the industry, stakeholders in the industry, immediately call out the abuse of children in this industry. This should rise above the parties you're attending in this winter season and the shows you're going to.” He further said, “This moment is on you - you have to decide whether you can know that children are not being protected by the industry that feeds you - or have polite indifference.”

Nigel Farage, a former politician, and TV host asked why it is not being talked more about, and tweeted a video with the caption, “We need to talk about Balenciaga.” He said in the clip, “We live in cancel culture, but only if you have conservative opinions. If you're on the left, and you endorse pedophilia, everybody stays schtum. It's disgusting.” As per the report, Laya Heipern, a Bitcoin investor said, “Meanwhile Balenciaga’s app is still available to download…”
One Twitter user wrote, "Took @KimKardashian 6 days to speak out against Balenciaga. I’m still waiting on Bella Hadid, Nicole Kidman, @DUALIPA just to name a few." Another reacted, "Interesting how Bella Hadid loves to play the activist but hasn’t said a word about the Balenciaga incident. I’m sorry but what..??? Girl where are you, speak tf up."
