Celebrity fitness coach 'Eric the Trainer' Fleishman, 53, dies on Thanksgiving at California home
GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA: Celebrity personal trainer Eric Fleishman, widely known as "Eric the Trainer," unexpectedly died on Thanksgiving at the age of 53, a post on his official Instagram account confirmed.
The globally renowned fitness icon died at his home in Glendale, California, on Thursday, November 24. "We are heartbroken to share that Eric Phillip Fleishman passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 24, 2022," a statement on his Instagram handle reads. "His wife Alysia, son, parents, and close friends/family are deeply saddened by this event. Eric touched many lives for the better. He was a beacon of light, hope, and love. This loss is devastating, and we appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

The fitness icon is survived by his wife Alysia and their son Henry. The cause of his death was not revealed as of Monday evening. Fleishman's memorial services are pending, his family said in the post.
Eric decided to shift to Los Angeles in 1996, where he worked with the trainers who helped Arnold Schwarzenegger build his marvelous physique and clinch a number of bodybuilding competitions. The fitness icon then made his way to Hollywood and transformed a slew of celebrities including Kirstie Alley, Jason Priestley, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and others. He also trained several music stars such as Def Leppard, Journey, and Fall Out Boy.
After finding fame in fitness, Eric worked with Muscle and Fitness magazine and became a member of the advisory board. He also started hosting 'Celebrity Sweat' and the Mr America bodybuilding competition. Eric also collaborated with the LAPD, CHP, and SWAT squads.
The sudden death of the trainer has shocked the industry. Mourning his death, actor Martin Kove, known for his role as John Kreese in the 'Karate Kid' movie, took to Twitter to share a bunch of pictures with Eric. "RIP my friend and brother @ErictheTrainer," he wrote.

Kendall Schmidt of Big Time Rush remembered Fleishman as a "larger-than-life man" in the comments section. "Larger than life impact," he added. "This is heartbreaking news. "So sad. Rip Eric. Will miss you 🙌❤️" Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote while Matt Lanter commented, "Crushed. Eric made such an impact on my life and I don't think he even knew it. I'm just shocked."
