Nicolas Cage and wife Riko Shibata welcome their first child together, reveal daughter's name
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicolas Cage and his wife Riko Shibata welcomed their first child together. The 29-year-old entrepreneur gave birth to a beautiful daughter at a hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, as reported by People. “Mother and daughter are doing fine,” the rep for the couple assured.
The 58-year-old actor confirmed his wife's pregnancy in January 2022. He already has two sons, Weston, 31, and Kal-El, 16, with exes Christina Fulton and Alice Kim, respectively.

As reported by People, Cage's reps confirmed that the couple has welcomed a baby girl in a statement that read, "Nicolas and Riko are happy to announce the birth of their daughter. Mother and daughter are doing fine." The name of their daughter has also been revealed as August Francesca Coppola Cage as a tribute to John Lennon and Cage’s father August Coppola.
While promoting his recent release 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', Cage said, "I'm gonna announce some big news for everyone. am gonna have a little girl."
Cage revealed to Extra later that Shibata was five months away from giving birth, noting that he was ready for diaper duty.
The 'National Treasure' star explained, "I’ll call her Lenny for short. I’m thrilled. It’s going to be the biggest adventure of my life." "I enjoy being a father and taking my parental duties seriously," he added.
The couple tied the knot in February 2021 in Las Vegas after falling in love in 2019 and the actor proposed over FaceTime.
The Oscar winner was previously married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004, Alice Kim, 38, from 2004 to 2016, and Erika Koike for four days in 2019.
Cage told Entertainment Tonight in April after his and Shibata’s nuptials that he is "really hoping for another child." “I miss it all. I miss watching a child discover things for the first time,” the 'Wicker Man' star gushed to the outlet.
“The way the sunlight shines through a leaf. Taking them to have a lobster dinner and have them freak out at the table. … I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies. I miss rocking in rocking chairs,” he added.
