Nick Kyrgios roping in Ben Stiller in mid-game exchange with spectator has Internet divided
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios had an exchange with an audience member at the Indian Wells tournament that has divided the internet. Though Rafael Nadal won the game, Kyrgios is making the headlines for losing his cool by yelling at a fan, and pulling in Hollywood actor Ben Stiller in the exchange with the audience member. Many people have started sharing their takes on the incident, with some finding it funny while others calling out Kyrgios.
On March 17, Kyrgios and Nadal played against each other at the Indian Wells tournament in California. They played three sets and Nick lost 7-6 (7-0) 5-7 6-4. However, more than the defeat what made news was Kyrgios exchange with a spectator and his involvement of Stiller in the argument.
During the final set of the tennis match, the fan started heckling Kyrgios, instructing him on how to serve against Nadal, who had already forced some break points. It was then that the tennis star lost his patience and asked the fan if he was good at tennis.
The fan replied “no”, to which Nick replied, “Exactly, so why are you speaking?” After this, Nick pointed at Hollywood star Stiller, who was seated in the vicinity of the heckler, and said, "Do I tell him how to act?” He answered himself: “No.”
After this exchange, Kyrgious looked visibly trense and proceeded to play under stress.

Does @NickKyrgios tell @BenStiller how to act? Don’t think so…#IndianWells pic.twitter.com/wrq9j5VBSi
The event occurred in the quarter-finals, where Nadal defeated Kyrgios to go to the BNP Paribas Open semi-finals. Nick failed to keep his cool and became irritated by continuous interruptions from the audience. In fact, following his loss, he slammed his racket on the ground, and a piece of it almost hit a ball boy. As he was getting slammed for it, Nick apologized to the boy and tweeted screenshots of his apology, writing, “Made a new friend in the process 🤍 accidents happen but we can go out of our way to make things better 🥶👑”
