Denis Shapovalov, the youngest player to break the ATP Top 30 since 2005, is currently dating fellow Tennis star Mirjam Bjorklund. The duo celebrated its second anniversary on June 26, 2021.
Shapovalov, 22, is looking forward to breaking into the Top 10 this year. The Canadian, who was born in Israel, has been delivering consistent performances for the last couple of years and is going deep into the Grand Slams with the help of his girlfriend, family, and coaches. Considering his potential, Shapovalov has a good chance to make it to the ATP finals in 2022 and produce some big results. He was just 20 years old when he met Bjorklund, and it was practically love at first sight for the Canadian and Swedish athletes.

Mirjam Bjorklund was born in Stockholm, Sweden on July 29, 1998. She has won six ITF Women's singles titles and also broke into the top 300 in the WTA rankings but has since slipped a little. Bjorklund has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 207, which she achieved on November 15, 2021. Meanwhile, she has a career-high WTA doubles ranking of 285, which she achieved on October 18, 2021. Bjorklund has also won one doubles WTA Challenger title with eight singles titles and two doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Bjorklund made her WTA main-draw debut at the 2017 Swedish Open where she faced world no. 62 Kateryna Baindl in the first round.
Both Bjorklund and Shapovalov play tennis across the globe and also practice together on occasions. The top-tier athletes met for the first time in 2019 and began dating in June that year, with Bjorklund appearing on Shapovalov's Instagram for the first time in November 2019. The Canadian's girlfriend has since been on the social media grid several times, looking cozy with her lover in a string of romantic photos. The pair regularly post pictures from their vacations as well as their daily lives in the Bahamas.
Bjorklund and Shapovalov's relationship became public on October 20, 2019, when the latter won his first tournament, the Stockholm Open. Bjorklund cheered for her man from the stands before the two of them hugged to celebrate his victory. She was also playing tennis at the time, corroborated by the photos from the day that showed her dressed in tennis apparel.
Bjorklund played her heart out in qualifying for ITF tournaments last year, albeit with mixed results. However, things got better as the year progressed. She made the semis of an ITF/Tennis Europe event in Germany in July and then won a similar event in Belgium. She later made it to the finals of ITF in Italy but lost in the end. However, she ended the year on a high with two singles ITF titles. Bjorklund also enjoyed success in the doubles ranks, which saw her win two more titles.
